3. Akito (#8) & Hideki Suzuki defeated Yukio Sakaguchi (#19) & Kazusada Higuchi (#21) when Akito pinned Higuchi with a European Clutch (10:01).
4. Special Single Match: Suwama defeated Keisuke Ishii (#13) with the Last Ride (8:00).
5. Special Single Match: Masahiro Takanashi (#5) defeated Tetsuya Endo (#3) with the Hangover!! (9:17).
6. DDT Extreme Title – TLC Match: Daisuke Sasaki (#4) (c) defeated HARASHIMA (#2) with the Diving Elbow From The Ladder Onto The Table (17:25).
*V7 for Daisuke Sasaki.
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (#7) (c) defeated Danshoku Dino (#1) with the Cross-Arm German Suplex (22:30).
*V9 for Konosuke Takeshita.

Another broken heart for Danshoku Dino. His efforts to show Konosuke Takeshita the true spirit of DDT did not win him the KO-D Openweight Championship. Part of the reason Takeshita won today was because he adapted to Dino’s gameplan when he needed to. At first he was on track to winning with his usual style, dumping Dino on his head with a German Suplex and smashing him with Lariats and Knee Strikes. But Dino got desparate and grabbed the ropes during the Gaydo Clutch for leverage. Yukinori Matsui saw Dino cheat and stopped the count. From there Takeshita switched gameplans and started using Dino’s moves against him, first with the Gaydo Clutch. Dino cut him off with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster. He hit the Homo Ye then applied his new Strangle Hold P submission. Takeshita found an unlikely way to fight out of the move and it was to bite Dino’s crotch! The champion continued using the Danshoku style by Hump Thrusting him into the corner. Dino countered a German Suplex into another Gaydo Clutch but Takeshita kicked out of it. Dino hit a Moonsault but another kickout happened. Dino climbed up again for another Moonsault but Takeshita kicked him in the backside and Power Bombed him to the canvas. From there the two traded Lip Locks instead of Elbow Smashes. Dino kicked out of a Lariat at one and in a trance took every Elbow Smash Takeshita threw at him. Takeshita whiffed a Pump Kick but it was clear Dino was out on his feet. However he still kicked out of a German Suplex. Takeshita pulled down his own shorts and hit the Cross-Arm German Suplex to finally put an end to Dino’s challenge.

Takeshita told Dino after the match that today was the most colorful wall he ever had to climb over. He can now with confidence thank Dino for giving him his first kiss 10 years ago at a DDT show where he was just a fan Dino found in the audience during his entrance. He called Dino a DDT icon. Dino left the ring crestfallen but stopped when he heard the fans chant his name. Dino pounded his chest, gave everyone the middle finger, pounded his chest again and left. With this being his ninth successful defence, Takeshita now has the KO-D Title record for the most defences in a single reign. Hisaya Imabayashi entered the ring to reveal the next challenger who will come to Korakuen Hall on 24th December. It’s Colt Cabana! A pre-recorded video played of Cabana challenging the winner of the main event. Cabana’s a comedy wrestler but he is also a two time NWA Heavyweight Champion so he warns the KO-D Champion to take him seriously when they face off. When the video ended Takeshita said he already beat Mike Bailey to keep the belt and he’s the strongest foreigner he knows so he won’t lose to Colt Cabana. Also Cabana doesn’t scare him like Dino did. Takeshita told everyone that even though he does his best for DDT he is filled with regrets. He regrets finishing in 7th for the Dramatic General Election. He also regrets finishing 12th in the Kanto Student Bodybuilding Championships which he thinks is a terrible and disappointing result. From now on he will put his best foot forward and he hopes the crowd will support him when he gives them exciting title defences.

Daisuke Sasaki is close to breaking the DDT Extreme Title record for most title defences. He beat HARASHIMA in a TLC Match for his 7th straight defence. Sasaki tried to attack HARASHIMA with chair and ladders but most of the time HARASHIMA kicked them away. Sasaki needed Tetsuya Endo and Mad Paulie to help him with interference. Soma Takao tried to stop them but was outnumbered and thrown out of the ring. HARASHIMA fought back, putting Sasaki through a table at ringside with a Diving Body Press. A Reverse Hurricanrana positioned Sasaki in front of a table leaning against the turnbuckles. HARASHIMA went for the Somato but Sasaki dodged it and HARASHIMA crashed into the table. Sasaki placed the table flat on the mat and gave HARASHIMA an Avalanche Pedigree onto it. HARASHIMA kicked out of the pin but was helpless when Sasaki stood the table up and lifted him onto it. Sasaki climbed the tallest ladder of the bunch and hit the Diving Elbow on HARASHIMA. The table didn’t break and every non-Japanese person watching imagined evil laughter in their head as Sasaki got the three count. After the match Sasaki said he didn’t get as many election votes as HARASHIMA but he doesn’t want to be like HARASHIMA anyway. He mocked HARASHIMA because he now has to say “I’m sorry I lost” to everyone who voted for him. Sasaki ordered Endo & Paulie to attack HARASHIMA but Soma came to the rescue with a chair and fought with DAMNATION until other wrestlers pulled them apart.

In a surprising upset, Masahiro Takanashi caught Tetusya Endo off guard with a flash pin out of nowhere. Endo though he had Takanashi down and out when he gave him the Tetsuya In The Sky. However, Takanashi shook off the pain and trapped Endo in a side rolling cradle for the shock three count. Takanashi called the move the “Hangover!!” which is what Endo must be feeling after losing the match that way. Takanashi said DAMNATION made a big mistake if they thought they got rid of Shuten-dōji that easily.

Well so much for that special non-title match Keisuke Ishii was going to get against the Triple Crown Champion. Less than 24 hours earlier Suwama lost the Triple Crown to Joe Doering in All Japan. Now Ishii was wrestling a disgruntled former champion. Suwama beat him in eight minutes flat. Still, he remembers Ishii from the All Japan dojo and would like to see how he will grow to the point where he might come back to AJPW. Ishii describes the result as a perfect defeat. Even though he lost it felt amazing to him. Tomorrow he will begin to grow stronger and stronger.

The pairing of Akito & Hideki Suzuki worked out well for the two. They beat Yukio Sakaguchi & Kazusada Higuchi when Akito countered Higuchi’s Doctor Bomb into a European Clutch. Akito was happy with the result and brought up that he and Suzuki share the same birthday (28th February). Both would like to team with each other again. Suzuki told Akito he would ask Sanshiro Takagi to put plans together the next time they meet for a dinner.

Ultimo Dragon made a fool of himself by being the only one to fall for the classic Group Hop spot during Match #2. Kazuki Hirata even knocked him out with a Karate Chop. When Hirata began his dance he shouted “The Hira-timo Dragon Gym is now open!” Despite those moments, Dragon felt like he fit into the DDT world smoothly.

Abdullah Kobayashi transformed into Stan Kobayashi during the opener. He cost the match for his team when a Western Lariat hit Antonio Honda by mistake. Honda also tried to tell a Halloween story called Sadako Vs Kayako Vs Gon, The Little Fox.

In the dark match, Super Sasadango Machine took some gambles. The first one didn’t pay off when he missed a Diving Double Knee Drop aimed for Kouki Iwasaki. But he used his wits when he saw Yuni climb the second rope to do a Moonsault. Sasadango grabbed Iwasaki and pulled him down on top of him to take the brunt of Yuni’s Moonsault. Yuki Ueno helped out by giving Iwasaki a Missile Dropkick then Sasadango ended the match with the Lehmann Shock. After the match Ueno said he was excited to find out about his inclusion in the upcoming Differ Cup tournament. He said he and Takeshita will win it for DDT.

More DDT wrestlers will be added to the Ring Dream online browser game next month. Cherry is now in the game along with gender swapped versions of Sasaki and Endo. Sasaki requested for his character to have blonde hair and a bigger chest so that will also be included as an alternate design. Endo’s character includes a cameo of Mad Paulie as a stuffed toy.

Producer Dino has abolished the annual Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament to determine the KO-D Title No. 1 Contender because Cabana is getting the next shot on Christmas Eve. The 23rd November Korakuen show will instead feature the first defence of the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles.

Ishii is producing a DDT show on 11th November in Tokorozawa. Sasaki will defend his Independent World Jr. Title against an opponent to be announced. KUDO will also have his first match back after recovering from his concussion. The main event is Ishii and the returning Shigehiro Irie versus Takeshita and Yasu Urano.

The DAMNATION team competing for the vacant KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on 2nd November will be Daisuke Sasaki, Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Paulie.

Dino Vs Konosuke Takeshita is a match eleven years in the making. Dino kissed a young Takeshita in the crowd during his entrance at a show in Osaka eleven years ago. It was the first DDT show Takeshita ever went to and he credits it as a big turning point in his life. As the runner up, HARASHIMA was given 300,000 yen and a title match for any of the other championships in DDT. HARASHIMA chose the DDT Extreme Title so he will face Daisuke Sasaki for the belt on 22/10. Tetsuya Endo is annoyed that there is no cash prize for 3rd place. He has no savings left after giving most of his King Of DDT prize money to Sasaki.

1. Antonio Honda, Shigehiro Irie & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Hoshitango when Honda submitted Hirata with the Majigatame (6:53).
2. We Are The World! Four Countries Wrestling Summit!: Mike Bailey defeated Diego, Rekka and Royce Isaacs when Bailey pinned Rekka with the Ultima Weapon (10:56).
3. Tetsuya Endo defeated Kouki Iwasaki with the Swan Dive Firebird Splash (11:14).
4. New York Style Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Soma Takao defeated Danshoku Dino & Keisuke Ishii when HARASHIMA KISS pinned Dino with the Somato (11:15).
5. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi (c) defeated Makoto Oishi, Shunma Katsumata & MAO when Takanashi pinned Oishi with the Takatonic (20:15).
*V2 for Shuten-dōji.
6. ALL OUT Vs DAMNATION!: Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when Sasaki submitted Takeshita with La Mistica Cross Facelock (20:02).

Ken Ohka interfered in the main event to attack the DAMNATION wrestlers and apparently aid Konosuke Takeshita in the process. Ohka picked up Takeshita and encouraged him to fight. It turned out to be a ruse and Ohka gave Takeshita a Vertical Brainbuster. Ohka went to hit the Fire Spear but Daisuke Sasaki cut him off with a chairshot. With Ohka dealt with, Sasaki ducked Takeshita’s Lariat and twisted him into La Mistica Cross Facelock for the submission victory.

NωA failed to win back the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles but they now have even bigger fish to fry. Shunma Katsumata & MAO want a shot at the GHC Jr. Tag Team Titles over in NOAH! They lost to the current champions HAYATA & YO-HEY in the NOAH Jr. Tag League and they want revenge. Meanwhile Masahiro Takanashi is pissed off that DAMNATION and Ohka Empire Returns are ahead of Shuten-dōji in the Dramatic General Election.

Producer Danshoku Dino knew not to put himself and HARASHIMA in another Falls Count Anywhere match. Instead their tag match today was fought under New York Rules. Pinfalls and submissions would only count when the wrestler is kissing his opponent during the pin or submission hold. HARASHIMA agreed to the rule while both Soma Takao and Keisuke Ishii were wondering why were they being dragged into this. HARASHIMA pinned and kissed Dino to win the match. He admitted he was confused by the rules. Takao also pointed out he now kissed three people in the ring today.

An update was given on the Dramatic General Election standings. DAMNATION is dominating with Daisuke Sasaki leading the solo election and the entire group is winning the unit election. Pigging 2017 is dead last as expected.

DDT Dramatic General Election 2017

August 7, 2017

The DDT Dramatic General Election is back to drive DDT’s season for the autumn once Sumo Hall is over and done with. 43 wrestlers will be pleading for the fans to vote for them and get them booked on the 22nd October Korakuen Hall card. 6. Beer Garden Specialty Lottery 6-Man Tag Match: Tetsuya Endo, Shigehiro Irie & Akito defeated Konosuke Takeshita, HARASHIMA & Daisuke Sasaki when Irie pinned Sasaki with the Beast Bomber (20:28).

Last call for orders came before DDT heads off to Sumo Hall. The Beer Garden finale featured some of the usual highlights like the Lottery 6-Man Tag Team main event. The two teams were put together by random draw with audience members pulling out the names. On one side we got Konosuke Takeshita, HARASHIMA & Daisuke Sasaki as the trio of KO-D Openweight Champions. Their opponents were Tetsuya Endo, Shigehiro Irie & Akito. Despite being on opposite teams, Endo and Sasaki came to each other’s aid throughout the match. They even tried the Finger Poke Of Doom spot when they had to wrestle each other. Later Sasaki put Irie in the Cross Facelock and Endo kept his guard. Akito got sick of it and put Endo in the Scorpion Lock but Sasaki stopped him with a chairshot to the back. Takeshita gave Endo a Dragon Suplex but Endo immediately fired back with Tetsuya In The Sky. HARASHIMA and Sasaki collided by accident and that mistake cost them the match. Irie took advantage on a dazed Sasaki by hitting the Cannonball and then the Beast Bomber for the pin. The two DAMNATION wrestlers didn’t stick around for the closing speeches. Irie said he missed last year’s Beer Garden so to be here this year was enjoyable. He has a new goal today and that is to grow YaroZ.

Hisaya Imabayashi returned from the dead to tell his annual ghost story. He explained that he died last year but he made a deal in the afterlife that allows him to return to the land of the living once a year to tell his stories. A cold presence was felt in the ring and for some reason Nobuhiro Shimatani was sitting in the centre with his face painted white. Nobody else in the ring noticed him. After three minutes of wrestling around Shimatani, the time came for the story to begin. Imabayashi told the scary tale of the Coin Locker Baby and Shimatani began crying over it. Imabayashi finally acknowledged Shimatani, spat holy water and poured salt over him so he would leave the ring. He explained that Shimatani snuck into the segment because he wasn’t booked for anything else on today’s show. With the story completed, Imabayashi talked about DDT with the wrestlers. Danshoku Dino asked who his favourite was? Imabayashi suddenly pointed at Dino and yelled “It’s you!” causing Dino to faint in fright. He then pointed to Super Sasadango Machine. “It’s you!” Then Kazusada Higuchi. “It’s you!” Then Saki Akai. “It’s you!” Then Yukinori Matsui. “It’s you!” Then the audience. “It’s you!” Suddenly “Wild Thing” played and Imabayashi threw water at everyone. He thanked everyone and asked to be invited back next year. Suddenly two crying children entered the room and climbed into the ring. Imabayashi asked if they were lost. No, they were looking for their father. Imabayashi asked who is he. They pointed and screamed “It’s you!” Imabayashi introduced everyone to his two sons and told them he will go buy fidget spinners for them. But his sons handed him a letter from their mother. He read it and was in shock. The wrestlers then read it and were also shocked. The letter was shown on the screen and everyone was shocked. It read “The father is not you!”

Kazuki Hirata succeeded in recording his own version on “TOKYO GO!” that can be used on DDT UNIVERSE without being muted. A video was him recording the lyrics was played during his entrance to prove he made it. Makoto Oishi announced that since Gorgeous Matsuno was deported from Japan, his team had to bring in his Italian cousin Matsuno Collection A.T. as a replacement. Nobody believed it was him but Sanshiro Takagi is allowing him to stay in DDT until Gorgeous Matsuno’s exile is completed.

Before the show began, Cherry and Rekka demonstrated a pro wrestling training class to advertise the DDT Dojo. While Cherry was doing her exercises, the Tokyo Joshi Pro matchmaker Tetsuya Koda snuck into the ring and pinned her to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title! DDT confirmed that Koda will now be part of the Tokyo Joshi Battle Royal at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2017” as the defending champion. Cherry will also still be part of the match.

Some new units were formed for the upcoming DDT Dramatic General Election. YaroZ is now a full unit consisting of Irie, Higuchi, Antonio Honda, Ryuichi Sekine and Rocky Kawamura. Ohka Empire Returns is Dino, Sasadango, Ken Ohka and Keisuke Ishii. Super DNA Revolution has Kouki Iwasaki, Mizuki Watase, Rekka, Daiki Shimomura and Yuki Ueno. Nobuhiro Shimatani was originally supposed to be a part of the group but he was convinced by Tomomitsu Matsunaga and Gota Ihashi to join Pigging 2017 as their leader. Yuko Miyamoto was confirmed as a member of Smile Squash for the Election.

FUMA will be part of a pro wrestling and heavy metal event in Shin-Kiba on 9th December. For the wrestling portion of the show FUMA will take on Jun Kasai. The rock bands performing on the show include Thorn, Hell Dump, Nihonto (Ricky Fuji’s band) and Hammerhead.

ddtspecial-dino-ishikawa

As the runner-up of this year’s DDT Dramatic General Election, Danshoku Dino received a KO-D Openweight Title shot against Shuji Ishikawa. It’s a situation Dino has been in before, earning KO-D Title matches through popularity contests. However each time Dino came up short and today was no different. Dino targeted Ishikawa’s legs by applying Crab Holds and an STF. Ishikawa fired back with Knee Lifts and even added insult to injury by attempting a Danshoku Nightmare to Dino. The champion of course hit his Headbutts but Dino responded with a middle finger and a Headbutt of his own! Dino wore down Ishikawa with the Sliding Lip Lock, hit the Danshoku Driver and rolled him over with the Gay-do Clutch but Ishikawa kicked out! A Rainmaker Lip Lock was countered with an Elbow Strike. The Danshoku Driver was countered into the Fire Thunder. All seemed lost for Dino but he wouldn’t give up and continued to flip off Ishikawa. Sadly a Running Knee Strike and Rainmaker Headbutt took away the last of Dino’s energy and Ishikawa won with the Giant Driver. Ishikawa stood proud of himself for beating DDT’s icon. Dino gave him one more middle finger before collapsing. Ishikawa moved forward to shake Dino’s hand but Daisuke Sasaki kicked him away so he could rub the victory in Dino’s face. HARASHIMA then showed up to congratulate the champion. He said he will face Ishikawa for the title at Osaka Edion Arena #1 in December and he will beat him fair and square! Ishikawa said he will beat HARASHIMA because he is the strongest in pro wrestling. Sasaki interrupted him again to close out the show.

rockpaperscissors2016

The annual Rock Paper Scissors tournament took place with a DDT Extreme Title shot on the line. Saki Akai was the last woman standing beating out Shunma Katsumata in the final. Akai will face Dino for the belt at the 23rd November Korakuen Hall show. Akai said after that night she will be walking down the runway with the championship belt wrapped around her!

ddtspecial-harashima-endo

HARASHIMA Vs Tetsuya Endo began with HARASHIMA Dropkicking his opponent out of the ring. However Endo took the opportunity to hide away from HARASHIMA and lure him outside. Endo snuck back into the ring behind HARASHIMA’s back and then dove onto him with a No Touch Topé. Endo stomped on HARASHIMA back in the ring, mockingly calling him “Ace” as he did so. The match went back and forth with Endo cutting off HARASHIMA through Dragon Screws. Endo got a nearfall with the Torture Rack Bomb then went for the Sky Twister Press. HARASHIMA rolled out of the way and countered with the Somato. He was too tired to go for the pin but a second Somato later was enough to put Endo away.

ddtspecial-sasaki-takanashi

Due to their opportunistic personalities, both Daisuke Sasaki and Masahiro Takanashi were careful not to make any mistakes while wrestling each other. Sasaki forced Takanashi to sit on a chair at ringside so he could go for his Super Diving Elbow but Takanashi cut him off by throwing the chair at him as he climbed the turnbuckles. Sasaki later countered the Takatonic into the Cross Facelock but that itself was countered into a Cradle for a two count. Sasaki pushed Takanashi into the referee and used the distraction to hit the Vietnam Driver II for the three count.

ddtspecial-ohka-takeshita

Part of the card had to be reshuffled when Super Sasadango Machine was unable to wrestle due to poor physical condition. Ken Ohka now had to wrestle Konosuke Takeshita. Ohka brought out a barbed wire baseball bat and used it to choke Takeshita. However Ohka was given a taste of his own medicine when Takeshita gave him the Blue Thunder Bomb onto the bat! Ohka kicked out of that but he couldn’t kick out of the German Suplex afterwards. Takeshita thanked Ohka for the match because they both have the same goals. Ohka disagreed and thinks they are on different paths, Ohka only does things the Ganbare way!

ddtspecial-shutendoji-honda

With Takeshita moved over to fave Ohka, Antonio Honda now had to team with Kazusada Higuchi for his match against Shuten-dōji. Honda stopped the match so he could show off his new ballet skills. He went to see The Nutcracker the night before and has been practicing ever since. As he tried to dance he hit KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi with Brain Chops. Shuten-dōji got their payback by kicking the hell out of him. They’re now looking forward to winning the KO-D Tag Team Titles in Nagano on 3rd November.

ddtspecial-ishii-soma

The rivalry between former teammates Soma Takao and Keisuke Ishii is heating up now that the AJPW Jr. Title is involved. Ishii recently became the No. 1 Contender for the championship and he will get his shot in All Japan on 27th November. Ishii thinks their title match is the culmination of their time spent in All Japan over the last three years. Soma got the better of him here with a Thrust Kick. Then he pinned Yasu Urano with the Gin And Tonic while Akito kept Ishii at bay.

ddtspecial-cherry-akai

I don’t know if you noticed but Saki Akai and Cherry don’t like each other. Cherry refused to shake Akai’s hand before their match and instead attacked her. After some stomping and hair pulling the match properly begun. Cherry won the match but Akai got a little bit of revenge by Dropkicking Cherry out of the ring afterwards.

ddtspecial-owashi-nwa

Toru Owashi took time out of the opening bout to complain that T2Hide weren’t being invited to perform as idols at “DDT FES 2016”. While he complained, NωA took advantage and pinned Kazuki Hirata. When the match was over Makoto Oishi called Sanshiro Takagi into the ring. If NωA wasn’t going to be added to “DDT FES 2016” then he will quit the group! Takagi told him the group was originally set up so they could be a part of the festival. Oishi’s threat showed just how serious he took his role so Takagi agreed to add them to the festival! NωA then performed “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU”. They also have a second song in the works.

ddtspecial-paulie-miyamoto

The last change to the card involved adding Rekka to the dark match. Rekka took Higuchi’s place in the match, teaming with Mizuki Watase against Yuko Miyamoto & Mad Paulie. Miyamoto patted Paulie like a pet when they won the match.

ddtspecial-irie

Shigehiro Irie made his first appearance in DDT since his excursion to America back in July. Irie spoke about how he gained experience in USA that he could not have gotten in Japan. He got to wrestle against people who are more his size like Colt Cabana, Chris Hero and Tommy Dreamer. While Irie’s first match back in Japan is set for 6th November at “DDT FES 2016” he won’t go back to regular competition in DDT until the 4th December Osaka show. Also he is looking forward more to seeing his favourite idol group perform at “DDT FES 2016” than he is wrestling. Irie then showed off the English he learned in America. “Nice to meet you. My name is SHIGEHIRO IRIE. From Japan. ……I Love You. I Miss You. I Need You.”
