1. Lucha Libre Rules: Takatimo Dragon, Hiratimo Dragon & Toru Owashi defeated KUDO, Antonio Honda & Nobuhiro Shimatani when Honda was Disqualified for unmasking Hiratimo (11:45).
*Hiratimo Dragon wins Antonio Honda’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet.
2. Naomi Yoshimura defeated Daiki Shimomura with a Short Range Lariat (9:03).
3. Akito & Tomomitsu Matsunaga defeated Kota Umeda & Kouki Iwasaki when Akito pinned Iwasaki with a Modified Facebuster (13:16).
4. Mike Bailey & MAO defeated Danshoku Dieno & Makoto Oishi when Bailey pinned Oishi with the Ultima Weapon (13:54).
5. 3 Way Tag Match: Kazusada Higuchi & Keisuke Ishii defeated Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase and Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata when Higuchi pinned Katsumata with the Doctor Bomb (12:44).
6. Tsukaba Specialty! Gama Oil Sales Special 6-Man Tag Match: Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi when Endo pinned Takanashi with the Shooting Star Press (18:24).

Tetsuya Endo had Masahiro Takanashi pinned when Takanashi countered the hold into a Sunset Flip. Unfortunately for Takanashi he did this right when HARASHIMA charged in to do the Somato to Endo. That meant Takanashi accidentally took the move instead. Soma Takao kicked HARASHIMA below the belt while the referee was focused on Endo hitting the Shooting Star Press on Takanashi, giving DAMNATION the win.

Kazusada Higuchi had messages involving both of his upcoming championship programs. He told ALL OUT that they won’t be able to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles from himself and Daisuke Sekimoto with the performance they gave today. He then told Shigehiro Irie to promise they will have a fierce battle for the KO-D Openweight Title at Korakuen Hall later this month.

Makoto Oishi has shaved off all his hair so he no longer has the reverse mohawk. He told everyone that he and his new fiancee both have a dream to become world champions by the time they get married. Oishi’s goal today was to beat MAO directly so he could get his Right To Challenge Gauntlet. That didn’t happen but Danshoku Dieno promised to help Oishi achieve his goal to become a champion somehow.

The first Right To Challenge Gauntlet transfer did take place today when Hiratimo Dragon took the one from Antonio Honda thanks to his usual unmasking antics. Takatimo Dragon asked Hiratimo when he would cash it in but Hiratimo stayed quiet. He then knocked Takatimo out with a chop to the neck when Takatimo began speculating.

Unfortunately Maho Kurone will be taking a break from Tokyo Joshi Pro to recover from her recent poor health. She had been suffering from headaches and dizziness that have been bad enough to take her off shows. After getting consulted in relation to these symptoms, Kurone was diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and told to recover from home for the time being. Her future plans will be determined once she goes through more examinations. Kurone’s absence means she will not be competing in the Tokyo Princess Cup. The cards for the upcoming Tokyo Joshi shows will go through the necessary changes as soon as their decisions are made.

DNA “DNA 45”, 03/06/2018

5. Akito & Shunma Katsumata Vs Keisuke Okuda & Akita Jo
6. Yuki Iino Return Match – Yuki Iino Knock On Series Round 2: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Yuki Iino
7. Naomi Yoshimura Vs Kota Umeda

Before Yuki Iino got injured he began a planned seven match trial series of matches in DNA. He only completed one against Shigehiro Irie before it was put on hold. Since his return match is now against Konosuke Takeshita it makes sense for DNA to bring the trial back and continue where they left off.

DDT “ROAD TO RYOGOKU 2018 ~DRAMATIC DREAM TOCHIOTAME~”, 09/06/2018
Tochigi Prefectural Integrated Cultural Center Sub Hall

1. Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Kouki Iwasaki
2. 3 Way Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Antonio Honda Vs Daiki Shimomura
3. Konosuke Takeshita & Akito Vs Kota Umeda & Yuki Ueno
4. Utsunomiya Specialty! Romantic Tag Match: Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Makoto Oishi

ALL OUT have declared their intentions to become the next KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions. When Takeshita saw the DNA team win the belts, he felt something special. But he is the leader of DDT’s new generation and he needs to be a champion now that he no longer has the KO-D Openweight Title. Since that’s out of his range for now, he is focusing on all of the DDT tag championships. Akito says ALL OUT needs the 6-Man Titles more than the DNA team do. That the belts haven’t been defended since April is Akito’s proof of this. Shunma Katsumata says the time is right for ALL OUT to be champions. Their challenge hasn’t been accepted yet but a tag match between Takeshita & Akito against Kota Umeda & Yuki Ueno will certainly set it up.

There will also be a match provided by local indie SWF.

The big news coming regarding Tokyo Joshi Pro this week is their entry into the 2018 Chikara King Of Trios! The three longest serving women on the roster Miyu Yamashita, Yuka Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima are joining forces to enter the illustrious trios tournament being held in Easton, Pennsylvania on Labor Day weekend. Chikara are naming them the Tokyo Joshi Freedom Fighters to fit in with the Star Wars theme being used this year. This will be the American debuts for all three girls.

The DDT family have a history competing in Chikara’s big tag team tournaments over the years. KUDO, MIKAMI, MIYAWAKI and Yoshiaki Yago (the latter two represented K-DOJO but they were also regulars in DDT at the time) were part of the 2006 Tag World Grand Prix (which was how I discovered DDT in the first place). DDT have also sent teams to the 2007, 2008 and 2009 editions of King Of Trios with the likes of KUDO, Danshoku Dieno, Kota Ibushi and Michael Nakazawa involved among others.

2. KO-D Openweight Title: Shigehiro Irie (c) Vs Kazusada Higuchi

Kazusada Higuchi gets the KO-D Openweight Title match after winning the Right To Challenge Rumble earlier in the week.

Daisuke Sasaki has decided on the stipulation for the HARASHIMA Vs Soma Takao match. He wants to make it easier for DAMNATION to get the DDT Extreme Title so he is putting himself into the bout to make it a 3 Way Match! All of DAMNATION have promised to be sportsmanlike for the match. Sasaki and Takao will not cheat. Tetsuya Endo and Mad Paulie will not interfere. Whether or not Sasaki is still injured entirely depends on if somebody wants to beat him up or not.

1. Toru Owashi & Hirata Collection A.T. defeated Keisuke Ishii & Masahiro Takanashi when Hirata submitted Takanashi with the Hirata Lock (7:56).
2. 3 Way Match: Mike Bailey defeated Tetsuya Endo and Makoto Oishi when Bailey pinned Oishi with a Switching Cradle (9:27).
3. Hell Gate Of The Idol Challenge: Danshoku Dino defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Gotch-Style Danshoku Driver (11:15).
4. KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Soma Takao & Kouki Iwasaki when Sakaguchi submitted Iwasaki with a Cross Armbreaker (11:12).
5. Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie defeated Antonio Honda & Shigehiro Irie when Sasaki submitted Honda with La Mistica Cross Facelock (17:04).
6. Tsukuba Specialty! Gama Oil Selling Special 3 Way Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano Vs Kazusada Higuchi & MAO when Urano pinned MAO with the Tombstone Piledriver (14:34).

Yasu Urano confirms that he will be cashing in his Right To Challenge Contract on 28th May, filling in the spot originally left for Yoshihiro Takayama before he was injured. Urano is aware that Sanshiro Takagi and Nobuhiro Shimatani could spoil his plans with their own cash ins. But the bigger threat is coming from Kazusada Higuchi. With Takayama out of action, Higuchi thinks he can take his place in the Korakuen Hall main event. Urano tried to make him reconsider by bringing up next week’s DNA show. Higuchi will be facing Mike Bailey in the main event and Bailey has beaten him before. Urano asked Higuchi over and over if he is sure he won’t lost his contract before 28th May. Higuchi is convinced he won’t lose to anyone. Urano then said that he was told by Takayama himself to cash in the title shot on 28th May. So Urano struck a deal. If Higuchi lets Urano have the 28th May title match then Higuchi can cash in his shot at the June Korakuen show. Higuchi is confident he will still have his contract by then so he agreed.

Daisuke Sasaki shoved the referee into Antonio Honda to stop him from hitting the Diving Fist Drop. He then kicked Honda below the belt and locked in La Mistica Cross Facelock. Sasaki did come up with a stipulation for his upcoming DDT Extreme Title defence against Honda but forgot it after a hard night’s drinking. He hates Honda telling his fairytales during matches so maybe it has something to do with that.

KUDO acknowledges that both Soma Takao & Kouki Iwasaki are getting stronger but not at Shuten-dōji’s level.

The match between Shunma Katsumata and Danshoku Dino broke down when Dino knocked out the referee with a Lip Lock intended for his opponent. Dino took the chance to grab the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title belt and use it as a weapon but Katsumata stopped him with a Dropkick. The rest of NωA came in to help Katsumata and triple teamed Dino until the referee recovered. Dino took all of Katsumata’s attacks then grabbed the belt again this time to distract the referee. Katsumata went for the Swan Dive X Factor but Dino caught him with the Lip Lock. He then hit the Gotch-Style Piledriver to win the match.

Mike Bailey thinks beating Makoto Oishi is an easy task. But he still wants to fight Tetsuya Endo again.

Hirata Collection A.T. revealed the name of his invisible dog. He calls it Wan-chan which I think is the Japanese equivalent of just naming it Doggy. Hirata submitted Masahiro Takanashi for the third time in a row. Takanashi is so frustrated by this that he wants a singles match with Hirata and banish him from Japan! Takanashi has an awkward history with Italian wrestlers in DDT. If that’s not enough Takanashi also wants to prohibit all of Kazuki Hirata’s relatives from entering Japan to stop any more replacements coming in.

Yasu Urano Becomes A Freelancer, Golden Week Schedule, Ganpuro Nonsense

April 28, 2017

Yasu Urano announced yesterday that he will no longer be affiliated with DDT and will be going freelance at the end of May. Urano has been wrestling for 17 years and has been with DDT for the last ten. He wants to expand his horizons with the remaining time he has left as a wrestler. He has no concrete plan for the future but there are many wrestlers out there that he has never fought before. Sanshiro Takagi encouraged him to consider wrestling abroad. He also suggested Urano to set up his own group and call it either Socrates or Wrestle Socrates because Urano is a wrestling philosopher. Urano had already gone over his decision with the rest of Smile Squash before going public. HARASHIMA didn’t believe him the first time he was told. The second time Urano told him he assured that he wasn’t quitting pro wrestling. As for Soma Takao, Urano didn’t know what to tell him so he just sent him a LINE message saying “Sorry”. He will still be a part of Smile Squash until he goes freelance but what will happen to that relationship afterwards is anyone’s guess. Urano still intends to make appearances for DDT here and there. He confirmed that he will a part of “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2017” on 20th August.

Golden Week begins with a DDT/BASARA double header in Korakuen Hall. Best friends turned bitter enemies Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo headline the DDT show with the KO-D Openweight Title on the line. Endo doesn’t care much about becoming the champion. His primary goal is to crush and humiliate Takeshita.

NωA will debut their new song “We are the HERO” during the show.

The current Right To Challenge contract holders are HARASHIMA, Yoshihiro Takayama, Kazuki Hirata and Nobuhiro Shimatani.

6. BASARA Three Major Special Single Match: Yusuke Kubo Vs Dick Togo
7. BASARA Three Major Special Single Match: Isami Kodaka Vs Yuji Okabayashi
8. Union MAX Title – BASARA Three Major Special Single Match: Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi (c) Vs Ryota Nakatsu

Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi is boasting of his abilities with his clear, easy to understand English spoken in an obviously American accent. He call himself the best stripper and best wrestler in the world with a perfect body that Ryota Nakatsu cannot beat. Nakatsu doesn’t believe a word that comes out of Ryuichi’s mouth. He is convinced it is really Ryuichi Kawamura playing a character. Regardless it is Nakatsu’s desire to win the Union MAX Title that drives him. He watched the belt be defended in Union Pro but never progressed far enough to challenge for the title before Union closed down.

Isami Kodaka has two matches to prepare for on the show. He will be the first opponent for the debuting rookie Takato Nakano. Then later in the show he faces the Big Japan golem Yuji Okabayashi in a first time singles match. When thinking up strategies for the match Kodaka came to the conclusion that it will be impossible to beat Okabayashi in a straightforward wrestling match. With that said he is still practicing a lot of different ideas to try and win.

The Japan Vs America rivalry continues further down the card. Ryuichi Sekine doesn’t care if the political relationship between the two countries is currently nice and friendly. He thinks his 6-Man Tag match against the Trans-Am ★ Family will be the biggest fight of the century. He wants to this match to show all the great things about the Japanese. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi responded that he loves Japan. He loves the beautiful scenery, the delicious food, the pretty women in kimonos and Tokyo Disneyland. The only thing he does not like about Japan are three particular people: Masamune, Ryuichi Sekine & Fuminori Abe! Japan can improve as a country if those three people learn to speak English. So Hiroshi asked for the match to be a True Patriotic Pinfall match. The match can only be won by pinfall and the wrestlers have to cover their opponent with their country’s flag on top of them. Sekine is against the stipulation because his finisher is a submission move. The rule may also backfire on the Trans-Am ★ Family if the rumour that Trans-Am ★ Tanaka is really submission specialist Minoru Tanaka turns out to be true.

Ken Ohka has confirmed that if he loses the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title to Maryama then there will not be a title rematch on that date.

During the press conference to promote Ganpuro’s upcoming events, Minoru Fujita briefly dropped by to give Ohka a gift he bought in Shinjuku.

Yumehito Imanari is training for the Double Sweet Death Match by eating a very sweet cinnamon roll he purchased last week. The downside to this is the roll is already a bit mouldy.
