*V4 for Keisuke Ishii.
6. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Final: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Chubby Knee (19:08).

Change is afoot in Ganbare☆Wrestling. The Imanari Revolution has succeeded in its goal in making Yumehito Imanari a main eventer but there were plenty of other stories on this show that mark a new landscape for the brand. Imanari’s hard fought victories over Shota and Shinichiro Tominaga resulted in him winning the second ever Ganbare☆Climax. To celebrate his achievement, Imanari said Ganpro will return to the location of its very first show, the Nanhai Ichigaya Memorial Clinic on 13th September.

Imanari’s victory speech was interrupted by an unexpected figure. Kouki Iwasaki entered the ring. He said there is a lot he wants to do in Ganpro like the match with Shuichiro Katsumura he was supposed to have on New Year’s Eve. Imanari thanked Iwasaki for coming and is happy to have him on board with Ganpro. Imanari then invited Sanshiro Takagi to enter the ring for a favour. He told him he wants Ganpro to run Korakuen Hall again and he found out that DDT has the venue booked for 16th December. Takagi wanted to know who leaked him that information but Imanari said Takagi left the schedule visible on his desk at DDT HQ. Imanari invited everyone to tweet non-stop at Takagi to give over the date but he immediately gave it up.

You may have noticed something isn’t right about what was written so far. How come Imanari gets to make the decisions now instead of Ganpro’s founder Ken Ohka? Well that’s because Ohka has walked out! He was beaten again today this time by Mitsuo Momota in a tag match. Afterwards Ohka grabbed his suitcase and left the building yelling “I don’t know” and “I am in trouble” at nearby reporters.

HARUKAZE put up a good effort against Keisuke Ishii by targeting his arm with Cross Armbreakers. But she fell to a Lariat and a Middle Kick both to the back of the head followed by a Knee Drop.

It looks like Survival Tobita isn’t up to scratch when he wrestles a regular match. He quickly ran out of steam and was easily put away by Tominaga in the Ganbare☆Climax semi-final.

3. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1: Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Yuu Yamagata with an Inside Cradle (6:03).
4. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title Next Challenger Battle Royal: HARUKAZE defeated Hagane by Ring Out (11:23).
Order Of Elimination: Ryan Davidson, Moeka Haruhi, Chikara, Shuichiro Katsumura, Takeshi Okada and Hagane.
5. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1 – No DQ & No Ropes Match: Survival Tobita defeated Ken Ohka with the Piledriver onto a Chair (13:10).
6. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1 – No DQ & No Ropes Match: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shin Mokujin Ken by Knockout with a Diving Elbow from the balcony (8:10).

The 2018 Ganbare☆Climax kicked off in violent fashion with the top two matches of the 1st Round. It was agreed that the main event and semi-main event would take place under Saitama Wrestling rules which meant no DQs, no countouts and no ropes attached to the ring. Yumehito Imanari knew that he had to go the extra mile to beat the stiff wooden monster known as Shin Mokujin Ken so he dressed Commando style for the match. He hid underneath a box so he could ambush Ken during its entrance but Ken was ready for him. Next, Imanari took out a machine gun and fired at Ken but the creature was not effected by the bullets. They brawled outside over to the balcony and Imanari knocked Ken into the wall with the Chubby Knee strike. Ken fell on top of a pile of boxes and couldn’t get up. Imanari then finished it off by finding his way up to the balcony and jumping off to hit a Diving Elbow Drop! Imanari was able to get up but Ken couldn’t answer the referee so Imanari was declared the winner by Knockout! When the match was over Imanari said for the last month he hated Ken. But today he felt a fresh sensation when they fought each other. Imanari now realises Ken isn’t a monster, he’s more like a forest fairy! Imanari broke down into tears and apologised for shooting Ken with a machine gun. He admits that was unnecessary. The world needs to be more peaceful and to do that Imanari will wrestle his enemies instead of shooting guns at them. Ken accepted his apology and the two gave each other a fist bump.

The other No Ropes, No DQ Match did not have as happy of an ending. Last year’s Ganbare☆Climax winner Ken Ohka was eliminated by Survival Tobita! Ohka was busted open early during an outside brawl and Tobita made it worse with more weapon attacks including a sawblade and a plunger. Ohka fought back with his own weapons which were all ordinary items found inside a suitcase. He got a nearfall with the Fire Spear outside the ring. The match went back into the ring and Ohka tried to finish off Tobita with a Piledriver. But Tobita countered it with a Back Body Drop onto chairs and the suitcase. Tobita hit a Piledriver of his own onto the chairs and that got him the win. Both men were on the mat by the end but Tobita still had enough in him to speak. He questioned if Ohka did his best today. Tobita gives his best because he knows as a 50 year old man that it will all be taken away from him someday. If Ohka is just going to tread water he may as well go smoke cigarettes instead of wrestle. Tobita told Ohka to ask himself again what is Ganbare☆Wrestling? Ohka still has more to do to answer that.

In the remaining 1st Round matches Shota beat a grumpy Mitsuo Momota by holding onto his tights during a School Boy. Shinichiro Tominaga eliminated Yuu Yamagata from the tournament by kissing her for a distraction then rolling her up with a Small Package for the three count. The semi-finals tomorrow will be Shota Vs Imanari and Tobita Vs Tominaga.

Besides the Ganbare☆Climax opening round, the rest of the show was all about the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title. The day kicked off with Keisuke Ishii successfully defending the belt against Ayumu Honda. Later in the show HARUKAZE won a Battle Royal to get the next title shot tomorrow. The match included a last minute entry from Texas wrestler Ryan Davidson. He looked to be a threat early so the rest of the field all joined forces to eliminate him. Ishii congratulated HARUKAZE for winning the match and told her it was great to see a woman getting a title match. He then called for his next challenger to come into the ring. HARUKAZE told Ishii that she is the next challenger. Ishii was a little annoyed by the idea but he agreed to the match. He won’t lose to a chick show! HARUKAZE got fired up and told Ishii she will beat him to become the new champion tomorrow!

0. Under Match ~ Crocodile Death Match: Daisuke Sasaki Vs Masahiro Takanashi ended in a No Contest (12R).
1. Soma Takao Produce DAMNATION New Member Assessment Match: Soma Takao & Shota defeated PSYCHO & CHANGO when Takao pinned CHANGO with the Official Endless Waltz (11:42).
2. DAMNATION Vs Metal Family!: Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & SAGAT when Paulie pinned SAGAT with the Reverse Splash (10:56).
3. Shuji Ishikawa & Kohei Sato defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Iino when Ishikawa pinned Iino with the Fire Thunder (15:08).
4. DAMNATION Vs NOBUNATION! – Scramble Bunkhouse 10-Man Tornado Tag Death Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Shuji Ishikawa, Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated Nobuhiro Shimatani, Ken Ohka, Masahiro Takanashi, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & CHANGO when Endo pinned Shimatani with the Shooting Star Press (14:10).

The entire DAMNATION unit got together for the first time to take part in their Beer Garden show. However they were threatened by the unit’s long time gopher boy Nobuhiro Shimatani who was so sick of the unit’s treatment of him that he formed his own unit to wipe them out. NOBUNATION consisted of Shimatani, Masahiro Takanashi, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, CHANGO and their big man, the hoss of the team, Ken Ohka! DAMNATION weren’t that intimidated by the other side as they were all handed cups of beer and tequila so they could have a toast at the start of the match. It didn’t take long for the match to devolve into a brawl around ringside and in the audience. Ohka missed the Fire Spear aimed for Daisuke Sasaki and hit Shimatani by accident instead. Tetsuya Endo wiped out a bunch of wrestlers with a Moonsault while Shimatani was put down by the rest of DAMNATION. Endo came back in to finish it with the Shooting Star Press.

Sasaki told Shimatani after the match that he brought together a good team and NOBUNATION should continue to exist. Sasaki told everyone he’s been drinking since 4 o’clock this morning then welcomed Shuji Ishikawa back for his first match in DDT since April. Ishikawa said he’s spent his time away from DDT practicing his karaoke. He came up with the name DAMNATION48 and sang a song while Endo and Mad Paulie danced beside him. Sasaki stopped the performance and scolded Ishikawa for his bad singing. Soma Takao scored it 7 out of 100. Ishikawa apologised and promised to spend the next four months practicing again.

Ishikawa’s main involvement on this show was to team with his Twin Towers partner Kohei Sato to take on Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Iino in a heavyweight duos showdown. Although Higuchi was on the losing side, he requested to have another match with the Towers sometime. Ishikawa shared a drink with Sato and joked that they never drink together because Ishikawa can’t keep up with Sato!

Endo was perplexed by Hiroshi’s yoga talents but got his mind back in the game when SAGAT was in the ring. Endo & Paulie’s victory came when they focused on SAGAT.

The DAMNATION audition match was held under “Double Daisuke” rules. That meant there were two referees in the match, Daisuke Kiso and Daisuke Sasaki. Takao wrestled with a notebook in his hand so he could score Shota, PSYCHO and CHANGO on their performances. Takao revealed his comments after the match. CHANGO has goot technique and is clever. PSYCHO has awesome moves and is good as a teammate. Shota has been friends with Takao for around 12 years so they are already on good terms with each other. It was down to Sasaki to decide who gets to be inducted by DAMNATION. Sasaki said everyone fails and is rejected! Actually Sasaki isn’t sure because he’s so drunk right now. Never mind, let’s move on to the next match.

In the dark match Sasaki and Takanashi brought back their match from last year that was just an excuse to drink shots every 30 seconds. The rules this time was after every round (which lasted 30 seconds), they played a game involving a toy crocodile where you take turns pressing down its teeth until the toy bites one of them. If the toy bites a wrestler, they have to drink tequila. If the toy doesn’t bite them, they drink a beer instead. Round after round went by as the match regressed to the point where both Sasaki and Takanashi became too drunk to do anything. Endo had enough and called off the match. He questioned why this was even the dark match in the first place. As mentioned above, it was an excuse for them to get drunk.

6. Special Single Match: Soma Takao defeated HARASHIMA with the Gin And Tonic (8:41).
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Shigehiro Irie (c) defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Beast Bomber (18:25).
*V1 for Shigehiro Irie.

Years of friendship were cast aside all in the name of glory as Shigehiro Irie defended the KO-D Openweight Title against Keisuke Ishii. Both dealt big damage early with Ishii giving Irie a Neckbreaker onto the apron and later Irie Power Bombed Ishii onto the same spot. Irie took the Kneel Kick and kicked out of an Exploder Suplex. He gained control of the match with an Avalanche Death Valley Driver and got a nearfall with the Cannonball Drop. Ishii had a glimmer of hope left with a Hurricanrana but Irie hit back with the Beast Bomber to win. Irie wanted to shake Ishii’s hand after the match but Ishii refused. The next KO-D Title defence will take place on 24th June. The challenger will be determined on 29th May at the return of the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Rumble! The winner of the match gets the 29/5 title shot but there will also be other Right To Challenge prizes on the line too. Irie said he will defend the title anytime, he doesn’t care where or against who. His goal as champion is to defend the KO-D Title around the world in order to create a new scenery for DDT.

A new costume marked Soma Takao’s turn to DAMNATION complete. More than that, constant cheating helped him beat HARASHIMA. A distraction from Tetsuya Endo allowed Takao to Low Blow his opponent. Takao was about to be pinned with a Hurricane Driver when Daisuke Sasaki pulled the referee away. A turnbuckle pad was removed and HARASHIMA collided with the exposed metal. Takao then struck him with a chair and pinned him with the Gin And Tonic.

When the match was over, Sasaki told everyone that Takao achieved a perfect victory over HARASHIMA. Takao didn’t respond and stayed quiet. Sasaki then mockingly asked HARASHIMA to apologise to his fans for losing. Endo pretended to speak for him. All of DAMNATION ganged up on HARASHIMA until suddenly Shuten-dōji came to the rescue! They chased DAMNATION out of the ring and each of them shook HARASHIMA’s hand. Is this the start of a new alliance against DAMNATION?

Makoto Oishi wasn’t joking when he said he wanted a new generation of DDT wrestlers to replace the current generation. He made Nobuhiro Shimatani dress up like Danshoku Dieno, Daiki Shimomura dress up like Antonio Honda and Yuki Iino dress up like Super Sasadango Machine. They weren’t quite perfect copies. Iino had a PowerPoem to read instead of a PowerPoint presentation. However he wanted to review it by himself so he didn’t get involved in the match until late into it when Oishi ordered him to help. Iino entered the ring and Speared Oishi by accident. Dieno then pinned Oishi with the Gay-do Clutch. After the match Honda said his team were still mentally and physically energetic even though they were all over forty. Honda fainted from exhaustion before he could finish his sentence. Everyone else congratulated Dieno for turning 41 two days earlier.

Konosuke Takeshita pulled out the Turnbuckle Brainbuster to beat Shunma Katsumata. He wanted this match to motivate Katsumata. Part of that is to make Katsumata face his criticisms. He is a pro wrestler and pro wrestlers should not have to worry about criticism according to Takeshita. Katsumata also learned more about himself. He always pretended to be a nice little boy and he never knew what he was fighting for. Now he understands what to do and he hopes not to disappoint the rest of ALL OUT from now on.

Kicks from Kota Umeda and Lariats from Kazuzada Higuchi took such a toll on each other that both were left down for the count at the same time, resulting in a draw. Higuchi offered a handshake afterwards but Umeda kicked his hand away.

A left foot injury took Yuki Ueno out of the 4 Way Tag Match. DDT was still searching for a replacement when they found Shota working in the venue as part of the staff. Shota declined at first but took the spot when the audience chanted his name. He ended up losing the match to DAMNATION.

All three of the Dragon wrestlers unmasked themselves and successfully framed KUDO to win the match by DQ. Hiratimo Dragon is being coy about how many -timo Dragon wrestlers there are. Maybe there are more, maybe there aren’t.

Tomomitsu Matsunaga beat Rekka again. This time he blocked a cradle pin and pushed all his weight down on Rekka to get the three count.

This year’s Beer Garden week will be held in Shinjuku FACE from 30th July to 5th August. Tokyo Joshi Pro and BASARA will have their own produce days during the series. Also the King Of DDT 1st Round will be held on 31st July as part of the festivities. This year’s tournament is the largest ever with 32 wrestlers competing for a 1,000,000 yen prize.

The new DDT mascot that was introduced back in April has been named Doradori-kun.

5. Attitude Of The Imanari Revolution: Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Yumehito Imanari with a Sliding Kick (18:23).

The Imanari Revolution continued with a second straight main event singles match for Yumehito Imanari. However this match ended in defeat to Shuichiro Tominaga. Imanari did his best though and did not tap out to the Ninja Choke. Tominaga had to hit him with a Sliding Kick to get the win. He told Imanari after the match that he has gotten stronger. He thought the Imanari Revolution was some kind of joke that went over his head but now he realises that it is a genuine attempt by Imanari to improve. He thanked him for the match and said Imanari is welcome to come back to his dojo anytime.

The closing speeches were cut off when Keisuke Ishii approached Katsumura. Ishii wanted to nominate him as the next challenger for his Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title! Katsumura accepted the offer but refused to shake Ishii’s hand. He knows that Ishii is in tomorrow’s KO-D Openweight Title match in DDT. He told him to bring that belt with him too if he wins it.

Ken Ohka announced the Ganbare☆Climax tournament will return for its second year in August. This time however the tournament will run for two shows instead of three. The shows will be held on the 11th and 12th August.

Both Imanari and Shota showed each other support for their matches at the start of the show.

On 1st May Shota signed a full time contract with Ganbare☆Wrestling. To mark the occasion he challenged Keisuke Ishii for the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title. Shota was working with Guts World then went on an excursion to America after the company closed in April. Ohka had always wanted Shota to join Ganpro proper and approached him to make it happen when Shota no longer had a home promotion.

Yumehito Imanari has started the Imanari Revolution so he can be recognised as a main eventer. His campaign began successfully when he defeated Takeshi Okada in the main event of last month’s show.
