The team-ups are done for now. Miyu Yamashita and Maki Itoh are on opposite sides for their next “WRESTLE PRINCESS II” warmup match.

Yuki Arai is quickly forming teams with her senpais. Yamashita helped train her so that’s a natural duo and she is getting along in the ring with Miu Watanabe too. The three of them team up together for the first time. Meanwhile Moka Miyamoto is becoming something of a rival to Arai as the two rookies breaking in around the same time. Shoko Nakajima gets to be the x factor in the match.

The “Nameless Corps” of Tsukamoto, Fuminori Abe & Yasu Urano were supposed to challenge for the UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles on this show. However Fujita is one third of the champions and cannot be at this show either. The title match has been cancelled for that reason.

2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura
3. DDT Universal Title: Daisuke Sasaki (c) Vs Minoru Fujita

Fujita will likely be good to go in time for the DDT Universal Title match to go ahead.

Two former KO-D Tag Team Champions are looking to take hold of the belts again. HARASHIMA was the previous champion as part of Smile Pissari until The 37KAMIINA defeated them. This time HARASHIMA is staying inside DISASTER BOX to look for a tag partner and he ended up with Naomi Yoshimura. These wrestlers are all no strangers to each other but it is still a first time tag team match up.

4. Special Tag Match ~ South Osaka Great War! Izumi Vs Kishiwada: Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada Vs Magnitude Kishiwada & Inaba no Buffalo

Four Osaka wrestlers all forged by DDT are put together in one match by Yukinori Matsui. Out of the four, Shigehiro Irie is sort of the black sheep of the group. But when Matsui wants him to show up at a DDT show he is booking, Irie will always oblige.

Osaka gets the first CDK tag match in DDT since Masahiro Takanashi’s comeback.

202 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House

1. Yuka Sakazaki defeated Kaya Toribami with an Omoplatta (3:46).
2. Hyper Misao & Yuki Kamifuku defeated Mizuki & Moka Miyamoto when Kamifuku pinned Miyamoto with the Famouser (9:50).
3. Miu Watanabe & Yuki Arai defeated Shoko Nakajima & Arisu Endo when Watanabe pinned Endo with the Tear Drop (10:20).
4. Hikari Noa & Pom Harajuku defeated Raku & Suzume when Noa pinned Suzume with the Blizzard Suplex (8:32).
5. Maki Itoh defeated Nodoka Tenma with the Itoh Deluxe (10:44).
6. Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel defeated Nao Kakuta & Haruna Neko when Saint-Michel pinned Neko after La Revolution (9:51).
7. Miyu Yamashita defeated Yuki Aino with the Skull Kick (12:02).

Today was a detour for Miyu Yamashita had to take on the road to “WRESTLE PRINCESS II”. Before she can defend the Princess Of Princess Title against Maki Itoh she first had to settle a score with Yuki Aino. Last week Aino pinned Yamashita in a tag match so today Yamashita needed to get her win back and prove she is in peak form. After winning the match, Yamashita called Itoh up to the ring and apologised for losing their tag match last weekend. Now they will move on from it and Yamashita swears she will beat Itoh to a pulp in Ota Ward Gymnasium! Itoh said Yamashita cannot lose to anyone but Itoh. She stuck up her middle finger and left.

Whenever Mei Saint-Michel gets in the ring with Haruna Neko she kind of loses her concentration because she just wants to play with the cat. The same happened here when she grabbed Neko by the tail and got scratched in the face. Saint-Michel later used her serving tray as a weapon and tricked Nao Kakuta into holding it so Sakisama could kick it into her face. NEO Biishiki-gun then won the match with La Revolution. It involves Saint-Michel holding Sakisama by the hand, running up to the second rope and jumping into a Flying Headscissors pin with Sakisama still holding her hand for graceful pose.

Itoh is picking up more steam with her eighth singles win in a row. After beating Nodoka Tenma today she is now ready to fight against Yamashita at least once before their Princess Title match takes place.

Yuki Arai was worried over what her physical strength would be like after a month of inactivity. Those worries went away thanks to her Idol Tag Team with Miu Watanabe. She puts Watanabe’s sense of stability as the reason they were able to beat Shoko Nakajima & Arisu Endo today. Arai got rid of Nakajima with the Full Nelson Buster so Watanabe could pin Endo with the Tear Drop. Arai hopes she can team with Watanabe more and said her enthusiasm for pro wrestling grew while she was out of action.

Yuki Kamifuku spent most of her match filming it on her phone. It was interrupted when Mizuki grabbed the phone off her. The video was streamed on the Tokyo Joshi Pro twitter account here.

On the last show Yuki Aino shocked Miyu Yamashita (and Maki Itoh) by beating her clean in the ring. Yamashita wants a singles match to avenge that loss and prove to Itoh that she will be at her best when its time for “WRESTLE PRINCESS II”. Aino beating her again would throw everything off course.

Yuki Arai is back after a month of Covid related setbacks.

This is the end for DAMNATION. They are forced to split up after losing the final of the DRAMATIC SURVIVOR tournament. What their final match will be and who will be involved is currently a mystery.

Jun Akiyama recently made the shocking confession of wanting to team with Yoshihiko! He admitted he would rather do this than challenge for the KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Titles.

The Pheromones have been teasing the addition of a third member to their team. Whoever it is will be showing up at Korakuen Hall!

Well Akiyama is challenging for the 8-Man Tag Titles anyway. He would rather the other four members of Junretsu fight for it but Makoto Oishi is injured long term so Akiyama has to be there. Maybe a first time in-ring meeting with Yoshiaki Yatsu will motivate him. The Olympics in Japan is now completely finished but can the champions keep their flame burning?

She won the match too! Miyu Yamashita took out Yuki Aino with the Skull Kick, leaving Arai to deal with Moka Miyamoto. Arai hit a Full Nelson Buster and then the Finally to get the three count.

Tokyo Joshi Pro will hold their first event in Nagoya Congress Center on 18th December. It will be a big show and Arai said she wants a singles match against Yamashita on it! In a press conference today the participants of both title matches got to speak. The KO-D Tag Team Titles match will be Yusuke Okada’s first championship shot in DDT since he signed with the company. Jun Akiyama is looking forward to teaming with his student and trusts him enough to let him do his stuff. Shunma Katsumata is determined not to lose the titles in his first defence. He also wants to pin Akiyama again like he did at the Ultimate Tag League. His partner Konosuke Takeshita said he will focus on Akiyama because he can rely on Katsumata to win the match if it comes down to him. The match serves as a clash of different wrestling styles and philosophies. Takeshita says there is no correct answer for pro wrestling that applies to everybody. Akiyama disagrees because he thinks the Giant Baba style that he learned has all of the right answers. Baba’s way is the correct way and the proof is in Akiyama being the current KO-D Openweight Champion.

The Olympic atmosphere in Japan has inspired Shinya Aoki to defend the DDT Extreme Title against MAO in a Hardcore Judo match. Aoki and MAO aren’t sure themselves what the rules are in a Hardcore Judo match but they are excited to do it.

Akai recently wrestled in Ganpro and felt everyone there has passion but it went away very quickly. If Manase’s fire is red then Akai’s fire is blue and that is much more hotter.

4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Maki Itoh defeated Suzume with the Itoh Punish (11:32).
5. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Miu Watanabe defeated Yuki Aino with the Tear Drop (12:15).
6. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Shoko Nakajima defeated Rika Tatsumi with the Tear Drop (13:21).
7. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Mizuki defeated Miyu Yamashita with the Cutie Special (14:31).

The Tokyo Princess Cup Three-peat is still on for Mizuki after she eliminates the biggest threat in the tournament. Miyu Yamashita is out in the Quarter Finals! A big moment came when Yamashita attempted to do an Avalanche Attitude Adjustment but Mizuki left her hanging upside down and hit a Diving Foot Stomp through her. Another big Diving Foot Stomp to the outside put Yamashita in danger but she used her kicks to get out of a defensive state. Mizuki prevented the Crash Rabbit Heat from happening by clinging onto Yamashita’s leg before she could run. Yamashita pulled off a normal Attitude Adjustment but Mizuki kicked out at two. She then dodged the Skull Kick, used a Jackknife Pin for a nearfall and immediately hit a Double Stomp out of it. Mizuki hit the Cutie Special but couldn’t pull off a bridge for the pin. She had to do one more Diving Foot Stomp before doing another Cutie Special to win the match.

Mizuki pulled Yamashita into the centre of the ring so she wouldn’t leave at the end of the show. Mizuki told the fans she defeated a monster today. She used to be jealous of Yamashita for having abilities that she does not have. But then Mizuki figured out that she has abilities that Yamashita doesn’t have too. Mizuki thanked Yamashita for the match and promised to win the Princess Cup for her. She also gave a shoutout to Yuka Sakazaki who has returned from her American excursion but is currently at home in quarantine. Together Mizuki and Yamashita ended the show by shouting “Happy Happy!” Backstage Yamashita said that Mizuki is also a monster in the ring just like her. She is frustrated to get eliminated from the tournament yet again but she will continue to enter the Princess Cup for as long as she is in Tokyo Joshi Pro. She is already looking forward to the 9th one.

There are two things you can count on in the Princess Cup. Yamashita eventually loses and Shoko Nakajima always does great. For the 6th time in 8 tournaments Nakajima reaches the Semi Finals! She defeated Rika Tatsumi by breaking out of the White Dragon Sleeper and hitting the Northern Lights Suplex. She then followed up with a Double Arm DDT and got the three count with the Diving Senton. Nakajima knew that Tatsumi was fighting for something so she counted on one opportunity opening itself up for her to win today. Tatsumi said Nakajima is too big of a kaiju for her to beat. She may look small but she is bigger than Mt. Fuji, the Tokyo Tower and the Sky Tree. She is the size of Mount Everest!

Only one fresh face made it to the Semi Finals this year and it is Miu Watanabe. She showed Yuki Aino just how powerful she is with a very Giant Swing. Later she powered out of the UBV and knocked her down with a big Shoulder Block. A Laserbeam punch was used to set up the Tear Drop and Watanabe punched her ticket to the final four. Watanabe said her matches with Aino are always important and pointed to their Princess Tag Team Titles match last November as an example. She promised to do her best with the Giant Swing as she approaches the final rounds.

Maki Itoh reaches the Semi Final for the second year in a row. She had to go through a scrap to get there though. Suzume ambushed Itoh with a Dropkick from behind during her entrance and they fought around ringside. Back in the ring, Suzume caught Itoh’s Diving Headbutt with the Ring A Bell. Suzume went for her finisher again later but Itoh blocked it and put her in the Itoh Punish for the submission win. Itoh pointed to the scratch under her left eye with one hand while sticking up her middle finger on the other to celebrate her win. You’d think Itoh would be furious at Suzume for damaging the cutest face in the world but that’s not the case. Instead Itoh thinks it is amazing because she doesn’t feel any pain from it at all! It shows she is getting better and she will continue to get better every day.

There was a disappointed response to this year’s Olympic Games opening ceremony. So Hyper Misao, Nodoka Tenma and Haruna Neko held their own as part of their 3 Way Match. Perfume wasn’t in this one either so the girls had to perform in their place.

At the start of the show it was announced that Yuki Arai will have her first main event match on 7th August. The show is happening in Nagoya, the home of SKE48. Arai will team with Yamashita against Yuki Aino & Moka Miyamoto. SKE48 member Shiori Aoki will be in attendance too.

5. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Yuki Aino defeated Yuki Arai with the Full Nelson Of Love And Fire (8:26).
6. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Marika Kobashi defeated Nodoka Tenma with the Front Neck Lock (7:52).
7. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Rika Tatsumi defeated Hikari Noa with the Missile Hip (14:14).

The International Princess Champion is out in Round 1! Rika Tatsumi survived the Blizzard Suplex from Hikari Noa thanks to a rope break preventing a three count. Tatsumi recovered with a Twist Of Fate and pinned Noa with the Missile Hip. She said after the match that nobody in the tournament wants to lose. But what Tatsumi is lacking at the moment is a championship. That is what makes her want to win the Tokyo Princess Cup and become a champion again! She faces Hyper Misao in Round 2. An upset Hikari questions if she should even have a championship because she was eliminated in the first round. She now wants to defend the IP Title against Tatsumi to get revenge.

Probably the upset of Round 1 belongs to Marika Kobashi. She made Nodoka Tenma submit to the Front Neck Lock. The two came into Tokyo Joshi Pro around the same time seven years ago but Kobashi had missed time over the years so there is a gulf of experience between them. Summer is the season for gals so Kobashi has the confidence to face anybody. This includes her next round opponent Shoko Nakajima. Tenma admits she feels happy for Kobashi because she is doing things in a way only she can do.

Yuki Arai’s first go around in the Princess Cup is a brief one. She put her efforts into using a Sleeper Hold on Yuki Aino. She also surprised everyone by doing a Full Nelson Buster. Aino escaped from trouble by evading the Finally Kick. She then threw her opponent with the Side Suplex and made her submit to her own Full Nelson. She praised Arai for putting up a good fight. Arai said she had a strong desire to break through the first round. She learned how to use a Full Nelson Buster because up until now she has only be doing kicking moves. Next up for Aino is Haruna Neko in Round 2.

Due to the uneven numbers entering the tournament, some wrestlers have a shorter path to the finals than others. Miu Watanabe is already through to the Quarter Finals after beating Kaya Toribami. She faces the winner of Yuki Aino Vs Haruna Neko. Toribami admitted she lost her concentration after doing the Twisting Senton from the second rope. She thinks this was the toughest match of her young career so far.

Tokyo Princess Cup 2021 Brackets

July 14, 2021

The Tokyo Princess Cup brackets are now complete. 22 of the 23 participants (Marika Kobashi was absent due to school work) picked their numbers out of a random lottery and were matched together before giving their comments for the upcoming tournament.

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1A: Nao Kakuta Vs Miyu Yamashita
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1B: Pom Harajuku Vs Mirai Maiumi
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1C: Moka Miyamoto Vs Raku
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1D: Arisu Endo Vs Mahiro Kiryu

Miyu Yamashita welcomes the challenge that comes with Tokyo Joshi Pro growing larger. The Princess Cup has been her biggest Achilles Heel because she has never won it and often suffers her worst results there. Nao Kakuta suddenly finds herself fighting the Princess Of Princess Champion in Round 1. She understands she would lose this match 99% of the time so will aim to make this the 1% chance she will win. Pom Harajuku picked No. 4 and is treating it as her lucky number. This is her first match back since recovering from Covid. Mirai Maiumi has developed into the type of person she wanted to be but hasn’t been able to win anything yet. This summer she is determined to cause the Miramare Shock! Moka Miyamoto is looking forward to entering her first Princess Cup after not being included last year. Raku hasn’t won a singles match yet and sees Miyamoto is gaining momentum. She says she will do her best to beat her. Arisu Endo’s motivation is to face Suzume in the 2nd Round. Mahiro Kiryu stands in her way and won’t let her pass her by.

Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1E: Miu Watanabe Vs Kaya Toribami
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1F: Yuki Aino Vs Yuki Arai
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1G: Hikari Noa Vs Rika Tatsumi
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1H: Marika Kobashi Vs Nodoka Tenma

Last year Miu Watanabe finished in the final 8. This time she is aiming to improve on that and reach the semi finals. Kaya Toribami knows how strong she is in their previous tag matches together. Toribami doesn’t have much experience but she will give it her all to win. Yuki Aino is also going to use what she learned in the last year to make it past the quarter finals. Her opponent Yuki Arai is coming off her first win and is confirmed to be on all of the shows during the tournament, no matter how she fares in the Cup itself. Perhaps the biggest match in Round 1 is Hikari Noa Vs Rika Tatsumi. Hikari’s first singles match against a senior member of the roster was against Tatsumi back in 2018. This time she is fighting her as the International Princess Champion and the winner faces Hyper Misao in Round 2. Noa wants to advance and face Misao in a death match. Tatsumi appreciates seeing other wrestlers achieve their dreams but she doesn’t want it to happen at her expense. She has a first time singles match against Mizuki as her big dream to fight for. Nodoka Tenma has never lost to Kobashi in singles matches but she has only advanced past Round 1 once. That was the year Tenma reached the semi final though so she wants to walk down that road again.

3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2E: Winner Of Match 1F Vs Haruna Neko

The winner of Yamashita Vs Kakuta faces Yuki Kamifuku in Round 2. Kamifuku admittingly doesn’t like wrestling in singles tournaments but you have to do what you have to do. If she wins the Princess Cup then she wants the sponsors Ameba to buy her a really big motorcycle. Mizuki has dominated the tournament by winning it the last two years. She’s hesitant if she can make it 3 in a row but will do her best because everyone is wishing her good luck. Haruna Neko is waiting for whichever Yuki comes up to fight her

3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2F: Winner Of Match 1G Vs Hyper Misao
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2G: Winner Of Match 1H Vs Shoko Nakajima

Maki Itoh still remembers losing to Mizuki in the semi final last year. Her goal is to win the tournament this year and surpass Mizuki. Suzume recently fought for the Princess Tag Team Titles but isn’t taking her chances here for granted. Hyper Misao is holding the same motivations she had way back in her first Princess Cup in 2015. She was chosen as a replacement back then because at the time everyone thought her superhero character had a short shelf life. She wants to win and prove she doesn’t have a shelf life at all! She heard about Noa’s request for a death match but she expects to face Tatsumi instead. Misao lost to Tatsumi in her fake retirement match last year so it’s time to get that win back. Shoko Nakajima is the only other person next to Yamashita that will be a part of every Princess Cup so far. She has the most tournament experience in the field and thinks it is all coming together for her.
