*Danshoku Dieno fails in V1. Daisuke Sasaki becomes the 68th KO-D Openweight Champion!

The world of DDT is back under DAMNATION once more. Daisuke Sasaki defeated Danshoku Dieno to become the KO-D Openweight Champion for the second time in his career. The two were ready to make the main event a memorable one. Sasaki entered on a king’s throne to mark the King Of DDT tournament win that brought him to this point. He had the rest of the present DAMNATION members accompanying him. Dieno on the other hand continued the dark atmosphere by making The Compliance dress up as druids and carry a casket down the entrance ramp. Inside the casket was a framed goofy photo of Sasaki. For over 30 minutes Dieno and Sasaki fought their hardest. When Dieno promoted the match as being far beyond Sasaki’s expectations he wasn’t joking. Dieno went as far as stripping entirely naked when he had Sasaki trapped in a Triangle Choke! Dieno continued to wrestle naked while placing his loose tights over his private parts. He hit a Naked Piledriver and went for a Naked Moonsault. Sasaki dodged the Naked Moonsault and put Dieno in the Cross Facelock. It was while Dieno was held in the move when Yukinori Matsui dressed Dieno back into his tights with a valiant effort. Dieno went back to his more normal moveset and did the Gaydo Clutch but Sasaki kicked out. Sasaki dropped Dieno with the NOW OR NEVER for a nearfall. Dieno climbed the top ropes but was stopped in his tracks when Sasaki did his own Lip Lock to the champion. Sasaki then climbed up to Dieno and hit the Avalanche Pedigree. Sasaki waited for Dieno to get back up and he performed La Mistica Cross Facelock, making Dieno tap out to end the match.

Sasaki celebrated his victory, one he says nobody saw coming. Dieno told him he never cared about who gets to be the symbol of DDT. Dieno admitted he envies Sasaki for living like a warrior. Sasaki does whatever he wants the way he wants. Dieno wanted to win as a competitor and today he couldn’t do it. Sasaki should be proud and carry that pride with the championship. Sasaki told Dieno he was dying to win the belt. He thanked Dieno for the match and thanked the audience for their support. He then asked the crowd if they love Dieno? Too bad! Sasaki then kicked Dieno and got the rest of DAMNATION to attack him. Sasaki struck Dieno with his framed picture and DAMNATION stuffed the former champion into the casket, locking it up with chains. Sasaki said today is the end of Danshoku Dieno! Does that make you sad? Good! Who’s next? Sasaki is here standing in the centre of the DDT ring. Remember, they do not conform, they do not flirt and they will not get married. Mother Nature, DDT and the pro wrestling world revolves around DAMNATION!

The show ended with “Into The Light” playing as DAMNATION was getting ready to leave. A video of Shuji Ishikawa singing along to the song was included as part of the show closing credits. In the video Ishikawa thanked Sasaki for letting him achieve his dream of singing karaoke in Sumo Hall. DAMNATION left the ring, except for Nobuhiro Shimatani who stayed sitting on top of the casket until long after the show was over. DDT later tweeted the credits video they would have used if Dieno won the main event. That video is of Muscle Sakai singing “Into The Light”.

CIMA had one particular goal in mind for his match with Konosuke Takeshita. He was here in Sumo Hall to teach Takeshita real pro wrestling. Throughout the match CIMA targeted Takeshita’s left knee with Low Dropkicks, Dragon Screws, a chair attack by the corner post and more. Takeshita began to catch up with CIMA when he hit the Blue Thunder. He picked up CIMA in a Fireman’s Carry and dropped him across the top turnbuckle and top ropes in the corner (Colt Cabana’s Chicago Skyline). He hit the German Suplex but couldn’t hold onto the bridge because of his damaged knee. Takeshita had another chance when he gave CIMA the Chaos Theory but CIMA kicked out of the pin. Takeshita went for the Cross-Arm German Suplex but CIMA countered it with the Casadora. The counter threw Takeshita into the exposed part of the corner after the turnbuckle pad was loosened by CIMA earlier in the match. CIMA hit the Schwein and two versions of the Meteora but Takeshita kicked out. CIMA hit the Crossfire but Takeshita kicked out again. It took one more Meteora to finally get the three count on Takeshita.

CIMA didn’t want to compliment Takeshita after the match. Is he the one with the most potential in DDT? Who else is there? He knows about Sanshiro Takagi, Danshoku Dieno and Super Sasadango Machine because he is in the same age group as them. They are like classmates to him. CIMA is turning 41 years old in November but before that happens he wants to win a championship. He mentioned STRONG HEARTS defeated ALL OUT in both matches today, one of them being 3 Vs 3. CIMA watched the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match that opened the show earlier from backstage. That’s the perfect championship for STRONG HEARTS to win! They’ll continue to bring the kind of heat DDT has never seen before and they’ll do so by winning the 6-Man Tag Titles! Both Tetsuya Koda and Hisaya Imabayashi had sour looks on their faces as they watched this from ringside. This STRONG HEARTS invasion is turning into a big headache for DDT management.

An emotional goodbye was given by Shigehiro Irie for his big farewell match from DDT. He received a video message of support from his mentor Kengo Takai before the match. Then during the entrances, Irie & Keisuke Ishii were joined by Soma Takao at the stage for a brief Team Dream Futures reunion. Takao shook Irie’s left hand and walked to the back. Irie, Ishii, HARASHIMA and Yukio Sakaguchi all tore lumps into each other for the match. Nobody was taking it easy just cause they like Irie. That wouldn’t be what he wanted. Ishii took out HARASHIMA with the High Angle Double Arm DDT while Irie set Sakaguchi up for the Beast Bomber. Knowing that the end was coming, Sakaguchi dropped his guard and yelled at Irie to hit him with all that he’s got. Irie hit the Beast Bomber and got the three count, telling Sakaguchi goodbye as he pinned him. Irie thanked all of the wrestlers and also Matsui for being the ref for the match. The original version of Irie’s “Tachimukau” entrance song played as he was joined by Mizuki Watase & Jason Kincaid for one last group photo together with Ishii also included.

MAO got to show his fucked up wrestling for a fucked up world by beating Sanshiro Takagi in the dreaded Weapon Rumble. Not everything went to plan though. The legendary Pico Pico Hammers the God Of Arakwa gifted him immediately turned out to be harmless. One by one, alternating weapons chosen by MAO and Takagi were brought into the arena. First was an office cabinet containing nothing but junk. Takagi grabbed MAO’s foot and kept banging it off the cabinet. Then there was a children’s potty wrapped in barbed wire. MAO dropped Takagi butt first onto it. Bags of 100 empty cans in total were then emptied out into the ring followed by a box of 100 unsold NωA CDs. MAO was in shock that there was still that many in stock. The mind game was taking effect on him when Chinsuke Nakamura and his homemade U.S. Title belt appeared to rescue him! MAO held Takagi for Nakamura to do the Kinshasa but Takagi got out of the way and MAO got hit instead. Kaori from The Bed Inn Girls was the next weapon and she used her feminine wiles to distract MAO until a bed was introduced to the stage. Takagi was knocked into the bed, accidentally pushing it off the stage. When it was set back up Nakamura collapsed onto the bed and Kaori decided to jump on top of him for fun. Chinsuke retreated from the stage and Kaori chased after him while the action returned to the ring. 10 plastic cases were brought down to the ring and were smashed apart by MAO and Takagi’s missed diving attacks. MAO got a vacuum cleaner and he stuffed Takagi into the vacuum’s bag. MAO then attached it to the cleaner and tried to suffocate Takagi by sucking all of the air out of it! MAO was ready to finish off Takagi when the next weapon arrived. It was MAO’s phone number displayed on the arena screen! Takagi encouraged everybody in the arena and watching at home to call the number. They can also send LINE messages too. MAO was so dismayed by this that he dropped his guard. Takagi went for the Spiccoli Driver when one final unexpected weapon came out. Andreza The Giant Panda! Andreza Headbutted Takagi so hard that the panda began to deflate! Both MAO and Takagi paused the match so Andreza could safely get backstage to recover. They even saluted the panda as it left up the ramp. MAO gave Takagi the Michinoku Driver II onto the cabinet. He placed one last plastic case on top of him and climbed the ropes. MAO won the match by hitting the Cannonball 450 through the case, crushing Takagi on top of the cabinet!

MAO couldn’t really get in the mood to celebrate because his phone wouldn’t stop ringing. MAO admitted he was intimidated by DDT growing bigger and he was afraid by how the older audiences would think of him fighting Takagi. But after today he realises why Takagi is so popular. Takagi told MAO to look at the mess they made in the ring. That is DDT! Look at how fucked up the panda got. That is DDT! A 21 year old running over his boss with a van? That is DDT too! They’re being broadcast live on AbemaTV but Takagi’s going to say a bunch of swear words anyway. That is DDT! Takagi can’t create such a crazy world by himself. He needs guys like MAO to show the world how stupid pro wrestling can be. MAO said whether it’s from a college student or a company president, stupid things will always be stupid. He realises his Moonlight Express team with Mike Bailey is currently stagnant but he is working hard so he can join Bailey wrestling overseas. The Moonlight Express will continue throughout 2018 and into 2019! But first, MAO has to go change his phone number. In his backstage interview, Takagi said MAO might be the next legitimate successor to DDT. He’s different from Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega but still absolutely nuts. He described MAO as being more cryptic when the other two were crazy. DDT will always be fine when they have those kinds of people wrestling for them.

Andreza Giant Panda was all over the show. His match with Super Sasadango Machine was the massive battle it was promised to be. Sasadango was at his wit’s end figuring out how to beat his opponent. He finally came up with a grand plan. First, he dressed up as a sasa dango treat because Andreza eats 120kg worth of bamboo everyday. Sasadango weighs exactly 120kg so by dressing up like food he can lure the panda into a bear trap set up at the end of the entrance ramp. That plan fell apart when Andreza’s master Samson Miyamoto accidentally stepped into the trap while he tried to calm down the panda. Miyamoto was then easily able to free himself. Good thing Sasadango also prepared a Plan B. Sasadango went to Muscle Sakai’s factory to develop a secret weapon called the Giant Sasadango Machine, an anti-Andreza panda identical in size and power. Giant Sasadango arrived in the most dramatic part of the match and collided with Andreza in the battle of the Giant Pandas. Sasadango interfered by blocking Andreza’s Lightspeed Headbutt with the bear trap, busting Andreza’s forehead open. From that moment, everything froze and “Etupirka” played over the speakers. The match resumed in slow motion as the two pandas headbutted each other. We got an inner monologue from Andreza, telling us his dream is to wrestle at WrestleMania. He knocked out both Sasadango and Giant Sasadango with the headbutts and jumped on top of them with the Andreza Press to win the match. Andreza celebrated his victory with his wife and son while Miyamoto thanked everyone for supporting New Nemuro Pro Wrestling today. Backstage, Sasadango believes it is inevitable that Andreza will appear on NXT because he knows Vince McMahon, Triple H and A-Train have access to both AbemaTV and Samurai! TV.

Both teams in the match between the Crazy Couples had different displays of affection on show. Makoto Oishi & Misaki Ohata both wore armbands that formed a heart pattern when they were placed together. Joey Ryan & Laura James meanwhile were seen making out all over Sumo Hall before the show began. There was a lot of anatomy grabbing in the match itself. Ryan gave Ohata the Boob Plex. Both Ryan and James used their genitals to throw Oishi around the ring. Ohata turned the tables when she used her boobs to flip James onto her back. She then overpowered Ryan’s dong and gave him the Sky Blue Suplex. Oishi added a Jackknife to Ohata’s bridge so both of them could pin Ryan at the same time. Oishi said after the match that he and Ohata are now the craziest couple in wrestling. Ohata shouted him down, telling him that what they did today was disgusting. Oishi thought he was going to be punished but instead Ohata thanked him for the fun match and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Oishi was so delighted he danced his way to the back.

As mentioned earlier, STRONG HEARTS were dominant over ALL OUT with two wins from their two matches together. Akito and T-Hawk fought each other, Shunma Katsumata picked his spots to strike and Duan Yingnan wiped all of them out with a No Touch Topé. That led El Lindaman to pin Yuki Iino with the German Suplex. STRONG HEARTS continued the attack after the match by stomping on Iino. Takeshita got involved from ringside but CIMA threw him off the entrance ramp to get an early shot in.

Meiko Satomura was willing to shake Maki Itoh’s hand before the joshi tag match but Ito flipped her off in response. Cassandra Miyagi made fun of Itoh by standing on top of her at the corner and asking the crowd “Who is the most scariest in the world?” The crowd answered “Cassandra!” Saki Akai did what she could to give her team a chance but it all rested on Itoh’s performance. She countered Satomura’s Death Valley Bomb into a DDT and countered it again with a Sleeper Hold. She put Satomura in a Crab Hold but that would be the last move she would do because Cassandra stopped her with a Dropkick. From there, Satomura hit the Cartwheel Knee Drop and applied her own Crab Hold. Akai tried to break it up with kicks but Satomura would not let go. When Cassandra got rid of Akai, Satomura turned the hold into an STF and Itoh quickly gave up. Satomura encouraged Itoh to stand back up after the match. Itoh didn’t take it gracefully and she slapped Satomura before being taken away. Itoh made it clear, she wants Satomura one on one!

The Gauntlet Tag match was a sprint of teams coming and going. Speedball & Antonio Honda eliminated Mizuki Watase & Jason Kincaid. Honda claimed to hurt his knee when he tripped on the new DDT ring canvas. But it was all so he could do his Gongitsune trick to Tanomusaku Toba & Keisuke Okuda. That ended when Okuda countered the Shining Gongitsune into a Cross Armbreaker for the submission elimination. Booing 2018 were prepared for the MMA team. Michael Nakazawa covered his arm in lotion so Okuda couldn’t grip him with the Cross Armbreaker. Nakazawa then pinned Toba with a Leg Roll Clutch. Shuten-dōji made quick work when they entered the ring. KUDO hit the Diving Double Knee Drop to Tomomitsu Matsunaga and then Nakazawa for the three count. The last round of the match was the longest. KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi struggled against Kazusada Higuchi & Kota Umeda at first. The moment of opportunity came when Higuchi accidentally hit Umeda with a Lariat. KUDO got rid of Higuchi with a Backspin Kick and Takanashi pinned Umeda with the Takatonic. Backstage, Takanashi suggested he and KUDO should get a KO-D Tag Team Titles shot for winning the match. They beat their rivals the former Nuru Nuru Brothers and also their former brother Kota Umeda to win the entire match. That has to be worth something, surely.

DAMNATION’s good fortunes for the day also included the opening match of the main card. Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie were a well oiled team against the DISASTER BOX trio of Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Yuki Ueno. Hirata’s recent miracle ability to win matches seems to have vanished. Endo kicked out of the Miracle One Shot Cradle. Hirata showed some life by kicking out of the Tetsuya In The Sky but inevitable he was pinned with the Shooting Star Press. According to DAMNATION there are no dreams when they are in the ring, only reality.

Mina Shirakawa got to show off some of her stuff for her DDT debut. She gave Yuka Sakazaki both a Romero Special and an Implant DDT. Sakazaki also took a Spin Kick from Miyu Yamashita and the Fame Asser from Yuki Kamifuku for a nearfall. Sakazaki, Mizuki & Shoko Nakajima turned the tables with dives out of the ring and also a 619/Dropkick triple spot. Kamifuku was laid out with a Double Arm DDT from Nakajima followed by a Sliding Lariat from Sakazaki. The Magical Magical Girl Splash then ended the match. Yamashita is happy with Shirakawa’s performance and is looking forward to seeing her more in Tokyo Joshi Pro. Shirakawa promises to do her best in catching up to the speed, strength and skills of the other girls when she begins wrestling there regularly from next month.

The last piece of DAMNATION domination to mention is Nobuhiro Shimatani’s win in the pre-show Battle Royal! He outlasted a number of DDT low carders and “ALL DOIN” participants to become the last man standing. Gorgeous Matsuno did what is described as the Gorgeous Superstar Cross Armbreaker but to me it looked more like an out of place Leg Drop. Whatever it was, Shimatani used Matsuno’s momentum to roll on top of him for the pin.
