2. New Sanshiro Takagi & Big Rude defeated Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Cherry when Takagi pinned Cherry with the Stone Cold Stunner (11:51).

*V4 for Yankii Ni Cho Kenju.
6. Special Singles Match: El Generico defeated Ken Ohka with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (15:59).

Cherry’s major announcement is she will move her blog from Livedoor to Ameba. Mio Shirai came out and told Cherry that everyone in attendance thought she was finally going to reveal her real age. Nothing else about Cherry matters, according to Mio. She challenged Cherry to a match for the 18/3 Union show. If Cherry loses the match she will have to admit her real age, one of the best kept secrets in wrestling today.

Sexxxy Eddy tried his moves on Mio Shirai with little success during their match. He asked her for a kiss because it was almost Valentine’s Day. Mio asked Eddy to close his eyes. When he did, Mio grabbed the referee and forced him to kiss Eddy. Mio used the distraction to give Eddy a School Boy for a near fall. Mio gave Eddy a Low Blow and tried to do the Figure Four Neck Lock but Eddy escaped, gave Mio a Power Bomb and won the match with the SEX On The Beach.

Tsuyoshi Kikuchi betrayed Cherry in their tag match and asked New Sanshiro Takagi if he could join Union full-time. He has been asking to join since January but the decision was always put on hold. New Sanshiro said Kikuchi could join, but he has no actual power to do anything. Naomi Susan butted in and said she will think about it. New Sanshiro ignored her and said he was looking forward to having Kikuchi pump up Union with himself and Big Rude.

Kikuchi returned with New Sanshiro Takagi at the end of the show to again ask Naomi Susan if he can join Union. Naomi said it was too early to decide and she would speak to him later. They were then interrupted by (Old) Sanshiro Takagi, who offered to shake hands with his doppleganger. During the handshake, he gave New Sanshiro a Stone Cold Stunner. He then said on 18th March he will become New Keizo Matsuda!

Rion Mizuki was infatuated by Rumi Kazama during the opener. After defeating Hiroshi Fukuda, Mizuki asked Kazama for her phone number. She didn’t know how to react.

Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Mio Shirai Vs Sexxxy Eddy

4. BJW Tag Team Title: Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto (c) Vs Kazuki Hashimoto & Takumi Tsukamoto

The main event for the Union 10/2 show in Shin-Kiba will be something for fans of Big Japan Wrestling to look forward to. Isami Kodaka has invited his tag team partner Yuko Miyamoto over to Union to defend their BJW Tag Team Championship against Kazuki Hashimoto & Takumi Tsukamoto. Isami is currently a double champion. He recently won the DDT Extreme Title and has held the BJW Tag Title with Miyamoto since May 2011.

The Union and Big Japan crossover does not stop there. Union announced that they will be hosting a joint show with Big Japan at Shinjuku FACE on 29th March. At the press conference where the news was announced, Ken Ohka said the Union Vs Big Japan rivalry will be a lot like the New Japan Pro Wrestling Vs UWF International feud from 1995. Meanwhile, Yuko Miyamoto said he wanted to have a DDT Extreme Title match with his friend Isami sometime in the future. There was also a mention of Cherry taking on a female Death Match Champion named Toka Kobayashi. Hmmm, that name sounds familiar…

The show will also have the debut match of New Sanshiro Takagi. The original Sanshiro Takagi has seen his workload for both DDT and Union in 2012 become too much to handle, so he has brought along Keizo Matsuda of IWA Japan to literally take his place in Union for the time being. This is not the first time Matsuda has portrayed a duplicate. He was formerly Fake HG in HUSTLE.

It wouldn’t be a New Year’s Eve puroresu indie show without a giant clusterfuck in the main event. The Ken Ohka Vs Ryuichi Sekine team challenge turned out to be a massive 74 person tag team match to close out the show. Ohka’s team won out in the end.

The Danshoku Dino Produce was weird. The match itself was a Royal Rumble match. But before it begun, a Samurai TV! assistant director (who oddly enough looked a lot like Tsurumi Amon) invited DDT President Sanshiro Takagi, K-DOJO founder TAKA Michinoku and Big Japan executive Eiji Tosaka down to the ring. The director challenged them not to laugh during the match. If anyone of them did laugh, either Michael Nakazawa or Tomomitsu Matsunaga would run down to the ring and spank them with a paddle. The director then called in DDT’s Kazuki Hirata and BJW’s Kazuki Hashimoto to try and make them laugh. Hashimoto was only able to make Hirata laugh, which caused him to get spanked with a paddle. That made Hashimoto laugh, which caused him to get spanked. The director said a joke and made TAKA laugh, so he got paddled too. Highlights (for a lack of a better word) from the match include Yuji Okabayashi refereeing the match while wearing a referee shirt with a midriff, Karate Brahman performing a song, Mio Shirai introducing herself as a lesbian, Atsushi Ohashi entering the match tied up in bondage rope, Kaji Tomato dancing with more and more wrestlers as they entered the match, (including CZW’s Sabian), Kaji Pot-au-feu (Ivan Markov) eliminating himself with a Tornado DDT, Okabayashi being unable to count above the number 6 and Takagi, TAKA and Tosaka getting constantly paddled for laughing at the nonsense directed at them.

DDT, Big Japan, K-DOJO & FREEDOMS Set For The Arena

September 15, 2011

BJW, FREEDOMS, K-DOJO & DDT, 03/12/2011
The Arena, Philadelphia, USA

Over the last decade, many Japanese wrestling promotions have realised that there is quite an international fanbase for their brand of pro wrestling. Talent exchanges and promotional relationships were formed as these promotions would branch out to new audiences from other corners of the globe. Companies of all sizes sent some of their promising young talent over to the American indy promotions to gain valuable experience necessary to take the next step in their careers when they would return home. Others would send some of their most accomplished wrestlers over to show exactly what they were capable of, introducing new styles and elements of pro wrestling to fans that they were never aware of. Ring Of Honor fans began paying attention to Pro Wrestling NOAH and Dragon Gate, Combat Zone Wrestling and Big Japan Wrestling satisfied a generation of blood thirsty fans with their violent feud while CHIKARA Pro created a bond with Dramatic Dream Team and Osaka Pro. With more and more fans around the world becoming exposed to puroresu, the Japanese companies began to branch out and host shows in other countries with Dragon Gate being the most active in the United States and the United Kingdom, although New Japan and NOAH have also found some success with the idea.

Now four of the most active indy promotions in Japan are joining together for a big trip to America. Wrestlers representing BJW, DDT, KAIENTAI-DOJO and FREEDOMS will head over to The Arena in Philadelphia during December to host a joint show in the infamous home of ECW. Not only that but the event will take place before CZW’s annual Cage Of Death show, so don’t be surprised to see the Japanese talent crossover to the black and yellow brand for one big night when two worlds collide.

The talent so far announced to travel over to The Arena are:

Big Japan Wrestling: Ryuji Ito and Jaki Numazawa

K-DOJO: Kengo Mashimo

FREEDOMS: Takashi Sasaki, Jun Kasai and Kamui

DDT: KUDO and Danshoku Dino

NTV Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League – Block B: Dick Togo & Yasu Urano [2] besiegen Yoshinari Ogawa & Kotaro Suzuki [0] when Urano pinned Ogawa with the Backdrop Cutback-Cradle (12:24).

The main one took place over in Pro Wrestling NOAH where Dick Togo & Yasu Urano are teaming up for the NTV Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League. They are already off to a good start with Urano using his new Backdrop Cutback-Cradle finisher to pin Yoshinari Ogawa to win their first match and top their group.

Meanwhile over in ZERO1, Sanshiro Takagi morphed into his Masahiro Chono inspired alter ego, I Am Fuck´n Goddam Chono to take part in an odd 4 Way match for the Regional Heavyweight Title. Also in the match was Lingerie Muto, aka Munenori Sawa, who was eventually pinned to lose the match.

BJW “BJ SPIKEOUT SERIES”, 17/10/2010
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1,576 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House

BJW Death Match Heavyweight Title, Fluorescent Lighttubes, Glass Board & 49,205 Thumbtacks Death Match: Ryuji Ito (c) defeated Shuji Ishikawa with the Dragon Splash through Lighttubes (20:13).
*V2 for Ito.

Finally, the UNION side was in Big Japan for Shuji Ishikawa challenging Ryuji Ito for the BJW Deathmatch Title. Ito came out on top in what was surely a violent match.

Note: Normally I won’t be reporting on Shuji Ishikawa and Isami Kodaka wrestling in Big Japan unless it turns out to be a really important match such as this.

New Year’s Indy Party Announced, UNION In Big Japan, Cherry Picking

October 2, 2010

The indy collection of DDT, Big Japan, K-DOJO, FREEDOMS and Ice Ribbon will get together this New Year’s Eve for a major show at Korakuen Hall that will count down to 2011. If it is anything like last year, expect each promotion to present its own match and the main event to be a giant Royal Rumble. Can it be as big as last year’s 108 Man Battle Royal? We have to wait and see.

Shuji Ishikawa has the chance to bring home some gold to UNION. He will be at Big Japan to take on Ryuji Ito for the BJW Death Match Heavyweight Title and possibly strike a vengeful blow to BJW. Last year when Shuji Ishikawa was the K-OD Champion, he often defended it in UNION. Big Japan’s Daisuke Sekimoto beat Shuji in his own promotion to become champion and reign over DDT. Now Ishikawa can give Big Japan a taste of its own medicine and bring its top title home to UNION.

Speaking of Big Japan, DDT’s Yasu Urano and UNION’s Hiroo Tsumaki will be on their next Dainichi Dash event in Yokohama on 16th October. Tsumaki will team up with Ryuichi Kawakami to take on Yoshihito Sasaki & Shinobu. Urano will be in the main event against Yuji Okabayashi (or Sekimoto 2.0 as I sometimes refer to him as). This will keep Urano on his toes before he and Dick Togo enter the NTV Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League over in NOAH later this month.

Cherry is on the lookout for women with martial arts training who want to become pro wrestlers. She also now has her own Ustream page at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/cherrypafe55
