Astronauts say that the momentum of BASARA and Big Japan cannot be stopped by anything, even by Coronavirus or the Olympics! After failing to win the IRON FIST Tag Titles today, Ryota Nakatsu said he will now focus on regaining the Union MAX Title. That’s not all from Sparky, they want another tag title shot when SAGAT is cleared to wrestle again.

Since the MAX Title match was postponed, Minoru Fujita had to fight Gouma instead. The two ended up fighting outside and Gouma held onto Fujita’s leg long enough for both of them to get counted out. After the match Fujita promised that when he wins the MAX Title, he will first defend it against Masahiro Takanashi. He then told Gouma he will be the second defence afterwards!

On the day of the show, it was announced that Takumi Tsukamoto was no longer considered a close contact to SAGAT and is now free to leave quarantine. However he was still absent from the show because he did not have enough time to travel to the venue.

Oishi Injury Update, Kohei Replaces Shuji, Akai Goes Ahead With DAMNATION Challenge

Makoto Oishi tweeted about his back injury he suffered during yesterday’s match. He is currently under examinations at a hospital in Shiroishi. He said he feels sore but doesn’t have any numbness in his back. Other than that he’s just waiting for updates at this point. DDT themselves haven’t said anything about it yet.

Minoru Fujita wins the Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ and pockets 500,000 yen in prize money. He joked about feeling sorry for the sponsors financing the tournament because their money ended up going to a freelancer instead of a full time BASARA wrestler. Fujita has ideas on what to use the money for but he can’t say what it is yet. Instead he wants to focus on the next mountain to climb and that is the Union MAX Championship! He challenged Takumi Tsukamoto to a title match on 27th July. Today, Fujita stands on top of BASARA and he told the rest of the roster they still have a lot of training to do.

Astronauts are now double champions in BASARA and Big Japan! For Sento Minzoku, victory was so close for them today. Daiki Shimomura capitalized on a blown double team spot from Astronauts and hit Fuminori Abe with an Asai DDT. However Abe blocked the Swanton Bomb with his knees and put Shimomura in the Manjigatame. Takuya Nomura held Isami Kodaka back until Shimomura finally gave up. Abe said he wants Astronauts to be the tag team that best represents the pro wrestling world. Their success is also making them stronger individually and Nomura has a chance to become a triple champion later this month when he challenges for the BJW Strong World Title.

The Jacket tag match ended up in chaos when all four wrestlers involved all fought in the ring together. Gouma tried to keep things under control but kept getting caught in crossfire after crossfire. He eventually gave up and called off the match much to everyone’s anger. They convinced him to restart the match but chaos broke out a second time and he cancelled the match again. Gouma declared himself the winner and the other wrestlers attacked him in retaliation.

Wrestlers cannot be attacked during the knockdown count. Headbutts, elbow strikes, closed fist punches to the face and hitting below the belt are all prohibited. Wrestlers will be given two warnings for breaking those rules and will be disqualified if it’s done a third time.

This is Yuka Sakazaki’s final match in Japan before her excursion to AEW next month.

These might be the final Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title defence if Hagane Shinno gets his way. The new champion is in the twilight of his wrestling career and believes the title no longer serves its use. His peak was beating Kota Ibushi for the belt which means it should only be defended against a wrestler on the same level. Asuka is getting the title match because it was already promised to her when Keisuke Ishii was the champion. If Asuka can beat Shinno and achieve her goal of becoming the youngest ever Indy Jr. Champion, then Shinno will be convinced she can become as big of a superstar as Ibushi.

Yuna Manase is now a full time member of Ganbare☆Wrestling! Two weeks ago she received an invite from Yumehito Imanari to wrestle for them on a regular basis. She couldn’t give an answer then because she had not finished her commitment to Tokyo Joshi Pro. But when she appeared at last Sunday’s show she announced she wants to do more with the group and be part of the Ganpro family.

The Union MAX Champion and his next challenger are teaming up for a match. But why? It’s all Isami Kodaka’s idea and is based on his history with Masahiro Takanashi. When Kodaka was the KO-D Openweight Champion in 2016, Takanashi was one of his challengers. The two teamed together before their title match. Kodaka remembers how tense it was as a champion to team with his challenger. He wants Takanashi to experience the same feeling. He has brought in what he thinks is the best team they should fight, the Speed Of Sounds!

Over in Big Japan this year’s Saikyo Tag League has been going on. Fuminori Abe entered the tournament with Takuya Nomura. The two regularly team together in BJW as Astronauts. Sadly the team only scored 6 points in their group and could not qualify for the semi-finals. So while the final rounds of the tournament is happening in Korakuen Hall, Abe and Nomura will instead be at BASARA wrestling each other.

Yuki Iino has been bench pressing 200kg as part of his training for the main event. He thought the public contract signing was a public workout so HARASHIMA was there to see his lift. The downside for this kind of training is Iino risks re-injuring his elbow before the show. He swears it is in perfect condition.

Michiaki Nakano from Souken Holdings had a sparring session with Keigo Nakamura but he got beaten pretty easily. At least the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title is now part of the Battle Royal he is entering.

Saki Akai has said the reason she is doing a 7 match series is to show her guest opponents how interesting wrestling in DDT can be. Tsukasa Fujimoto is no stranger to DDT so she is going into the match wanting to see if Akai is more than just a gorgeous looking pro wrestler. She is curious to see how Akai wrestles against her because Akai has spent almost her entire wrestling career in a company for male wrestlers.

Kazuki Hirata isn’t leaving Ganbare☆Wrestling just yet. He has unfinished business with Keisuke Ishii. A decade ago the generation that Hirata and Ishii belong to had their own rookies tournament called the Young Drama Cup. It only lasted two years. Ishii won the first one in 2009 and reached the final of the second one in 2010. Hirata entered the 2010 tournament but finished last with only a single victory. A lot has changed since then but the history of that tournament now surrounds the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title match.

3. Takumi Tsukamoto, Daichi Kazato & Yasu Urano defeated FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & Gouma Ryu when Tsukamoto pinned Ryu with a Crab Hold (14:29).
4. Special Single Match: Isami Kodaka Vs Daisuke Sekimoto ended in a Time Limit Draw (20:00).

6. Cavalry Vs Astronauts!: Ryota Nakatsu & Ryuichi Sekine defeated Takuya Nomura & Fuminori Abe when Sekine submitted Abe with the Let’s Combine (17:16).

Cavalry were able to win the main event by having Ryuichi Sekine hold Fuminori Abe in place with a Full Nelson so Ryota Nakatsu could hit him with a High Kick to the head. Abe tried to recover and put Sekine in a Triangle Choke but it was countered into the Let’s Combine for the submission finish. Both of Cavalry admitted they felt jealous of Takuya Nomura after wrestling him, Nakatsu because of his skill and Sekine because he is handsome.

The Bloody Brothers weren’t sure what to make of Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Trans-Am ★ Ryuji. They asked each other “What are these people?” when they saw Hiroshi & Ryuji perform yoga in the ring. They were freaked out even more when Hiroshi woke up from his peaceful state during a Sleeper Hold spot and pulled scary faces at everyone.

Twenty minutes wasn’t enough to determine a winner between Isami Kodaka and Daisuke Sekimoto. The two shook hands after their match and teased having a rematch down the line.

Even though Gouma Ryu was the obvious weak link on his team, he still did his best and joined in with the IRON PRIEST spots when he could. He lost the match for his team but FUMA enthusiastically recognised the hard work he put in today. FUMA called it the birth of a new Heavy Metal Warrior. Yusuke Kubo didn’t see things the same way and said today’s result was disappointing. FUMA ignored Kubo and called Ryu a saviour. He then revealed that “FUMA FEST” will return for its second show on 8th December with Gouma Ryu’s law firm as the sponsor! He doesn’t even need permission because he already added the firm’s sponsor logo on the show poster.

Daiki Shimomura announced that with DNA taking a break he will now be wrestling for BASARA! He wrestled in a brand new black costume with some green and orange added to it to mark the new step in his career.
